+17 Internets | Galactic Arms Race 1.0 release (mp space shooter) Hey, if you get a chance could you try out my dissertation project? It's a multi-player space shooter with some RPG elements, done in C#/XNA: Galactic Arms Race (GAR) Let me know if there are any serious installer or game issues, or if any of the instructions are unclear. Logging onto the "GAR Official 1" server and shooting people will help me collect dissertation experiment data. ![]() Posted a couple threads on this during development. Zarcath did some of the NPC dialogue. Here's some pics of how it finally turned out. |

+17 Internets | Did you guys install the XNA 3.0 redistributable? It is listed on the download page: Galactic Arms Race (GAR) I changed the order of the links, putting the requirements first. Many people were just downloading the client, but not noticing the required XNA 3.0 file to run it. It will fail to run if it is not installed. |

| Fucking '06er | I'm 68. Great mindless fun so far. I can see how the pvp would be interesting with the evolving weapons. The weapons basically make you a "class" at that point. It has some things. It needs some things, but I think you guys are doing a fantastic job. Grats! |

+17 Internets | Released 1.1 with a bunch of changes including: - group up into squadrons (no friendly fire against squadron mates in PVP zones) - when you pick up a gun your current gun drops, so you can pick it back up if you don't like the new one - a lot more possible weapon variety - bunch of other stuff in this thread: Galactic Arms Race : gar.eecs.ucf.edu • View topic - Sticky: GAR 1.1 Release Notes Here's what the grouping looks like. | With the evolving weapons thing.. is it possible it's not done making new weapons yet? That could be another allure of the game... finding a new unique weapon.

| I just want to say grats bud. I know how proud you must be. There is nothing like the feeling of seeing a project completed and people appreciating it. I DLed the new version today and I have to say it is well done and really fun.
