+2 Internets | I used the 2d platformer kit (whatever it was called) a while back, and it was really easy to get something basic going, but once you started trying to do things that weren't explicitly supported by its native modules (well, and a few things that were), it got really annoying and unstable. Hopefully it's been improved since then, but my experience with it was pretty painful. |

+12 Internets | I think what you are talking about is TGB or Torque Game Builder. That is their PC 2D engine built on c++. Torque X 2D is built on C# and XNA 2.0 (soon to be XNA 3.0). It is capable of deploying games onto XBLA and is basically a game builder for the Xbox community driven games initiative going on. |

| I tried it but I didn't like it much. Too... time intensive to get what I wanted out of it. And what I mean is just getting it set up and to run to do the things I wanted, much less to actually do anything with it was more than I wanted to put into a little project like mine. I guess if you were actually going to charge a monthly fee or distribute your product world wide or something of that scope it would be worth it but just starting out or learning how to make a good game it was way too complicated to get started with.
