+8 Internets | Google search for .wavs and 'sound effects' turns up a lot of shitty sites with shitty sounds. I found one that is pretty cool though: freesound :: home page Seems like a decent community aimed at creating a large library of free sounds. There's a good search function and previews for all sounds. You have to register to DL though. |

+10 Internets | I found that little sound creation freeware on a game development board (retro remakes I think) and it allows you to make video gamish sound effects in a simple and fast way: pick a style, hit "random" a couple times until you hear something that sounds decent, hit "mutate" a couple times until something that sounds cool, hit "export .wav" and voilą. If you are so enclined you can even fine tune the sound with a number of sliders. I have yet to use it for an actual project but I played with it a little and it seems like something you might find convenient.
