So I think I have my XNA project about where it needs to be for a first playable demo... minus the sound >

Anyone have any links to a good (free) sound library for a non-commercial XNA title?

XNA has sound library. Or do you mean a library of the sounds themselves?

oh the code i can do myself... i'm talking the actual sound files... i realized i didn't say that correctly after i posted

Basically sound packs full of non-copyrighted sound files (or files that can be used in a non-commercial project)

I mostly use soundrangers, but you have to pay for the sounds I think. Not sure if they have any freebies.

Google search for .wavs and 'sound effects' turns up a lot of shitty sites with shitty sounds. I found one that is pretty cool though:

Seems like a decent community aimed at creating a large library of free sounds. There's a good search function and previews for all sounds. You have to register to DL though.

I found that little sound creation freeware on a game development board (retro remakes I think) and it allows you to make video gamish sound effects in a simple and fast way: pick a style, hit "random" a couple times until you hear something that sounds decent, hit "mutate" a couple times until something that sounds cool, hit "export .wav" and voilà. If you are so enclined you can even fine tune the sound with a number of sliders.

I have yet to use it for an actual project but I played with it a little and it seems like something you might find convenient.
