Looks like garage games have released a new platform based on working through a normal browser.

InstantAction

Haven't looked into what it's like to develop for, but looks like it would be far easier to distribute.

On second pass this sucks nm. It's trying to be the myspace of webgames. I thought for a few that it was actually promoting some type of innovative technology which would bring games to the web. But it seems any game you make people have to play it via their instantaction.com faggotry.

I'll wait until the Legions game comes out to get a better opinion. Been dying for a game like Tribes for too long and this looks like the closest to a spiritual successor as we're liable to get.

Unity does do it, but still the huge problem of unity is having to develop on a Mac. Still, Instantaction is quite neat and being able to play full 3D games in a web browser is quite an amazing experience.
