A new direction

As some of you may have noticed, work on uberworlds has ground to an absolute halt. I won't get into the reasons for this since they are not relevant, but would rather go over where I want things to go from here.

Basically, I don't see focusing everyone on a single project is the best course for the time being. Without being able to really focus work, it hasn't been possible to achieve anything beyond what you've already seen.

What I would like to see this forum changed to is a more open discussion for people who are creating their own worlds, doing their own modelling, or even just modding exsiting games to come together. There is also the possibility that some of the assets we have available, such as forums, web page, wiki, hosting, etc, may be usable but that is yet to be decided and even if it comes about, it will be chosen on a case by case basis.

Personally, I think I'm going to go back to getting Newbie World up and running and finish polishing it up. I much prefered the creation side of things and wasn't too successful at the management sides 8) Anyone who is interesting in helping is more then welcome, you can reach me in irc most days.

Yeah, I noticed updates had pretty much stopped. Was actually just about to offer my services for some 2d art asset creation. Let me know if you need anything.

No, I wanted to put it up since I have a spare comp to host it but the version I got off SVN wouldn't compile and not sure how to fix it so it works. If anyone can do that, I'll be happy to set up the server to host it.

faille, give me remote desktop access with admin to that server (needs to be windows) and i'll get it setup for everyone.

I guarantee that Manor will be there at launch!

With luck I'll have server back up this week, but my connection is pretty crappy, and the links to aus aren't the best anyway so be ready for some ghey performance.

If anyone wants to offer to host it, let me know and I'll look at our options, but priority atm is getting this server up and running and even if we get a new one at some point it will probably remain a test server.

well the manor building has been finished half a year ago, just hasnt been implemented yet :P
anyway, im in the middle of exams atm, but would be up to do some modeling stuff after that.
someone should get brain to join us again.
