That list is from the book "20 Master Plots and How to Build Them". Here is a cliffnotes version of the book posted on a forum.

Toss in a group of mini-arc plots from here and if you have any problems working with transitions then use the tried-and-true "Oh I just woke up, boy I'm tired, back to sleep!" excuse to skip ahead to the middle of the next adventure.

Pro-tip: always start in the middle of a story and explain "the what and the why" while you're doing it. Good luck Lala, I look forward to playing your game!
heh, i bought that book just yesterday. even tho i never wrote any stories cept for some school essays and such. it just sounded interesting to me :P

anyway, i just wanted to say, if youre going to make a millie rpg, i think youll have to include brittney and the rest of the hoofshoters as bad guys. theres no way around it.

I'd actually beg that you please don't. I wish we could give that "chapter" in the board's history a rest already. It was a bunch of immature kids who got kicked out for being immature kids, and we don't need to glorify them any further. Even in video game villain form. Most of us here have moved on and couldn't care less about those folks.

Instead of giving them glorified roles as villains, just have them in a short sequence getting devoured by the games ultra powerful optional boss (think Emerald Weapon from FF7): The Black Hand.

Are you creating this using an RPG builder, or what? Couple pics are cool, but just wondering if there's any substance behind it; many people lose steam very fast, once they realize how much work is needed to create a complete/enjoyable game.

Yeah, RPG Maker XP or VX is what I'll be using. I've messed with them tons over the years so I'm aware it quickly can become pretty daunting. =/ I probably should change my working title to Millie Nukem Forever as some sort of loophole incase I bail on it. If I get too lazy and don't finish it at least I'll have some drawings to make a portfolio out of or people can use them for avatars or whatever.

If you ever run into a brick wall, timewise or energy-wise, let me know and I can take over the project at that point. For instance, if you do all this art and then decide you don't want to do the programming or the writing, I'm planning on making an RPG in Feb 08 when RMVX comes out -- so I'd be happy and honored to use your sprites and art in the game.

That said, I'm really kinda hoping something comes out of your project, because I think you're very talented and your sprites so far have been extremely cute.

P.S. - Don't worry, all. If I make a game, I'm going to make a game that I think people will want to play. It's not just going to be all cutesy stuff, running around and admiring puppies, etc. Although there may be some of that!

I'm hoping VX is a big jump in improvement. I didn't have the patience to mess with how ugly the earlier games were. I felt like I was working with an uglier version of NES Zelda games too. I've had a pretty complete DD I made with Virtue Studios a few years ago, a lot of which won't be able to be implemented due to the limitations of not knowing how to program on my own, but I've had almost all basic gameplay and story/characters decided for years now and just nowhere to implement it that I felt was worth the time. Really hoping this new version is good ;/

The last bit of the video there made it look pretty good...although apparently that will require real coding. Still, maybe worth learning for someone who really wants to get a game out there. I may look into it when VX is released. I had a pretty cool RPG going years back on RM2k that I lost due to hard drive failure.

You know, we could always just turn the entire game into a Pokemon-style puppy breeding game. Only with no fighting, obviously. Just raising puppies to win pageants.
