| By the way I wasn't saying that waterfalls into the sea are a bad thing, just that I haven't seen any myself. As I said the picture you posted looked pretty good, especially the waterfall!

+24 Internets | I wouldn't even know how to make an ice level in RPG Maker Well at least not one where you slip around everywhere. Oh and I know cactuses (cactii?) don't grow in Icy areas. Iceberg lettuce does. Millie, you seem to be correct. The filename says something about Big Sur. Looks like a fantasy land to me, I figured every cool place on the planet (specially in the US) was covered by a parking lot and a shopping mall by now. |

| Not that it matters but yes it is cacti as the plural of cactus. Just like fungi is the plural of fungus. As for the drawing.. I say rock on! Looks absolutely great.

+24 Internets | In the Ice Level the waterfall will be frozen and you wouldn't be able to get to the secret robot cave. The trees shall sing though. I reorganized my second hard-drive and found some old stuff to post for the hell of it. Feel free to laugh, cry, get angry. I mostly cry myself. Fair warning : Most of these are utter shit, but it goes to show talent doesn't exist, you have to work for it. Spoiler'd cause some are pretty large. I'll put some descriptions on some. Spoiler Alert, click show to read: Last edited by Laladilya; 04-23-2008 at 08:15 PM.. |

| Fucking '06er | Maybe I should hire you to design the art for my Halloween tickets. =X Hell, I may have you design (if you're interested) a high-res piece that I can have made into a print to hang in my house. I prefer art from people I "know" over store-bought BS. Great work all the way around. Oddly enough I could see some of your characters, as terrible as you find some of them, as avatars in your game... or A game. I really want to help people make games, though I have nothing to lend aside from pro-am writing talent and a VERY active imagination. |

+11 Internets | Really enjoying this come along Lala. From the stuff I've seen of yours from before (stuff for the group mmo thing that was going on earlier) you've improved a lot within a relatively small amount of time. Your anatomy/proportions in particular have shown some pretty big leaps. Let me know if you need any help along the line, I kind of doubt that we'd really be able to work in a similar style set, but I figure I'd offer just in case /shrug keep at it man ![]() |

| I was thinking the same thing Vat. While he was bitching about how bad they were I had this sensory blackout thing as I tried to reach through the intertubes and strangle him. What you call crap is better than most peoples art. Hush up about that part and just do your thing. |

+78 Internets | Leave it to FoH to bash you and call you awesome at the same time. I agree the art work is already stellar, but I understand what its like to create something and not be happy with it. Even when others praise it. |

+24 Internets | Haha well I'll clarify, even though I'm pretty sure you guys don't really care. Its not really that they suck, it's sort of a relative thing. I've just gotten better since then is all. A year from now it'll happen to the stuff I do today. It's all in comparison to myself, not anyone else. It doesn't mean that if someone can't draw something as good as those that I think they suck even worse. Craig Mullens posts his bad stuff up on his site, and it runs circles around my best. Doesn't mean I absolutely can't draw, and Mullens himself wouldn't even say so, but he could easily point out areas I could improve upon. That first picture of the monkey in a straight jacket (monkey boy is his name) was me when I was a complete newbie to photoshop (not new to drawing just photoshop). I thought it was so high quality when I finished it, that it should be printed in magazines and on T-Shirts just because it was the best picture ever created by mankind. Now? Not so much. It has a lot of areas I could do better now, not even getting to optimizing for print. If you don't draw, imagine it to your first time playing an MMO, in comparison to how you'd play one now. You could play sure, just like I could use photoshop, but you probably sucked pretty hard in your own opinion compaired to how you would play now. Hopefully anyway. =P Also if you code (since I do abit of it too), it happens if you open an old project you did and seeing how bad your code is compared to what you can do now. It's your own old code against how you would do it knowing what you know now. I had to modify an old Flash navigation for a website I did probably like 4 years ago recently. Nothing but if statements, no loops functions or any of that. over 300 lines of code reduced to under 30. It still worked at 300 lines but at 30 it was much cleaner, but even someone at a beginner level would do it better. I self taught myself OOP from free articles on the internet (buy a book its easier that way) and I just hadn't learned loops and functions yet when I made it. I just look back and laugh about it now. Same deal with those old drawings, although admittedly art is somewhat more open to interpretation than code is. ------- Yeah dubb, if you want to do something you're definately more than welcome to. Its open for anyone to contribute to in whatever way they want, but I'm too unreliable due to real life responsibilities to lead a proper dev team of sorts. I'm going to try this weekend to get some of my stuff organized to give anyone who wants to help at least a little direction. I checked but I don't seem to have that non-sped up Halo video to get the exact time. It's basically copying a photo, which is a lot faster/easier if you know the basics of how to paint/photoshop functions than doing something original from your head (for me at least). I vary in speed picture to picture but I'm still on the slow side usually. I drag my feet a lot. I only mentioned the time so nobody would think that it was playing in real time and I was ungodly fast and could paint a picture in the exact time the Halo theme's length is.
