This would be the follow up to the first quest.

Quest name: Magistrate Haelaphos

Location: Silversage, Town Hall
Description: Talk to Magistrate Haelaphos
Start NPC: Clerk Anlor
End NPC: Magistrate Haelaphos
Pre Reqs: Vermin Infestation
Level Range: 1-3
Difficulty: Easy
Items Involved: None
Rewards: 20xp, +20 Silversage Defenders.

NPC Dialogue
NPC Start:
Now that you have shown to be of some use to this town, Magistrate Haelaphos has requested for you to come and see him.

A word of advice...pay attention and do as your told.

Player Accept: Good, now hurry over and talk to Magistrate Haelaphos, do not keep him waiting.

Player Decline: A foolish thing to do traveler. If you wish to remain here in Silversage I would encourage you to reconsider
your decision.

Player Success: Ah, here you stand before me, the slayer of rats, liberator of abandoned houses and savior of the farm fields.

For all that...hard work, I welcome you to Silversage traveler.

As you might have noticed, our village has seen better days. But do not be discouraged by what you see, for all these minor
troubles surrounding us will be dealt with in due time. I'm sure even one such as your self might be able to help out. Which is why sent out a summons for...people like you. Merely to speed up the process and to get the mining operation started once again.

The rest is just minor details which you can take up with the others.

I advice you to go talk to the rest of the villagers, help them out were needed. If you haven't already, make sure you speak
with Captain Rodkim and Master Sergeant Gharoth. They should be able to give you a better rundown of what might be needed around here.

If you have any further question, take them up with Anlor. I have a village to run.

That is all.

Player Not Finished: I fail to see why you have reason to return to me, Magistrate Haelaphos stands right over there. Time is slowly ticking away, and so is his temper.

Player Failed: (if applicable)

Will post more later on if people think these are atleast decently written.

Quest Name: Life of a soldier

Location: Silversage Village
Description: Talk to the guards of Silversage
Start NPC: Captain Rodkim
End NPC: Captain Rodkim
Pre Reqs: None
Level Range: 1-3
Difficulty: Easy
Items Involved: None
Rewards: 20xp, +20 Silversage Defenders

NPC Dialogue
NPC Start:
So you are the one we got, huh. I hope you are better then you look.

The name's Rodkim, Captain Rodkim to the people here. I'm not much of a talker, so I'll be precise and to the point, Silversage is in the need of help...yours to be exact. As it stands now, we are able to hold our own and protect the village,
but that will only last for so long if we aren't able to strike back.

Plans are being laid out, and our scouts are out gathering the information we need. When the time is right, your assistance will be needed in order for us to secure a brighter future for Silversage.

But, before you get all excited about what lies ahead, being overeager and hotheaded will only get you killed around here. Therefor I'm sending you to go and actually talk to the ones who live this life every day. Speak with the guards of Silversage, listen and take in the information they give you. It will do you good to know what dangers are closing in around us.

Only after this will I decide if you can be trusted with our plans.

Player Accept: Go now... listen and pay attention. You will find the guards, around or close to their guard posts.

Return to me when you feel you have learned enough from them.

Player Decline: I guess I was right all along, we never should have bothered with sending for aid. You should be on your way back to whatever tavern you crawled out from.

Player Success: After all that, I hope you have learned something. The life of a soldier is not for everyone, but what we do, we do for the protection of others. Your help will be appreciated, and it feels better knowing that you still choose
this, even after the things you heard.

Player Not Finished: I still see the faint glimmer of hope for fame and glory in your eyes. You still have much more to
learn, so make sure you listen carefully and truly understand what lies ahead. It's not the life you imagine it to be.

Player Failed: (if applicable)

be more explicit with your rat kill quest. kill 10 rats, 20 rats? bring back rat tails? combine different rat bone drops and forge a rat-bone key in the heart of mount doom to unlock the one true door?

omg, that would be epic. end game quest that requires you to go back to a newbie dungeon, find the secret lair to the rat demon outpost and make said key.

Nice work darkblue. Gonna touch up the dialogue a bit, and rework the journal descriptions (they're too wordy, players should be able to glance at the description and tell what they have to do).

Thanks.

The reason I wrote them that way was because I thought there was going to be two things going into the Journal, and what the player sees. The "Description", which was going to be detailed and precis information as to what the players needed to do, as in, Kill 10 rats.

The second input was going to be the "Journal Description", which was going to be the longer and more in-character description of what was needed. Which was to be written in first person as if the character had written it, into their journal.

So for example the journal would look like this.

| Journal |--> Rat Problem
---------------------------------------------------
* Kill 10 rats (0/10)
---------------------------------------------------
The guards of Silversage asked me to
take care of the rat problem. I should
try to hurry, don't want to dissapoint
them.
---------------------------------------------------

But anyway, we can discuss what might be the best solution on Sat, or whenever I run into you on IRC.

I implemented a quick sample quest for The Silver Plataeu using some of the core changes I've made. This is the quest and the code that went with it.

I understand the reasoning, but I'm working off the idea that the character is jotting something down real quick before heading off to the task. So short, and to the point, while still feeling like it's something they would write down.
