| Armor appearance I was thinking the other day, how much I miss the old days of EQ before dyes and infinite armor appearances. I used to like wearing my lustrous russet and people knowing what it was without having to inspect me. While I am not advocating such minimal armor choices, I think that the lower level armors should have very few textures. Allow special appearances for special items, that way appearance shows people something about you. Now a level 1 looks very similar to a level 50 in many games which I think is too bad. Also, NO DYES. That was a bad idea I think. |

| While I dont know the majority of whats going on in this forum, I would suggest that you follow the model of one game I read about that uses sockets or such in all armor so you can design it anyway you want. It lets you choose whatever armor you like and lets you design the stats the way they want. You can still have armor drops and you can still have socket drops, but armor would be pretty much apperance only. Make sure you have an option to view what something will look like as well before you put it on. |
