| In Nagoya for a week. Must eat? Went to Fushimi last night for some Tebasaki. Good stuff. Last time I was in Japan was about 10 years ago for a couple of trips to Tokyo where we were lead around the whole time. Thought I would ask some locals/foodies for some ideas. I'm good with pretty much anything and I want to make the most of any spare time I get in the evenings. Thanks! |

+5 Internets | I've always wanted to try Nagoya-style Misokatsu.. Basically just tonkatsu with a miso-based sauce. I heard that's pretty good. Some of my friends swear by the Nagoya-style eel, too. I'm not a big fan of eel so I can't recommend it based on personal experience, but it's certainly unique. The most distinctive food that I know of from Nagoya is ankake supa. It's a noodle dish with a thick sauce and a strong flavor. ![]() |
