| Honeymoon ideas I've been having a hard time deciding on a good location for a honeymoon, and given how long it can take to arrange things I don't want to sit around too much longer. It would be around last week of february/first week of march, for something like 4-6 days. I know the following things: -Tropical location not good -Too much beach not good (maybe just a little) -Lots of variety good Was wondering what ideas others may have. Some things I've thought of is starting in switzerland for a night and day maybe at matterhorn, then heading up to paris for a bit. Not sure after that. maybe french riviera then paris?? dunno |

+66 Internets | For something unique, you could look at something similar to this: Skeena Valley Expeditions - Tatshenshini River Rafting Of course, seeing as you're doing it Feb/March, you'd probably want to look in the southern hemisphere. But I just posted that more as a general idea for a unique trip that isn't the stereotypical honeymoon trip, consisting of either sitting on a stereotypical beach somewhere, or seeing the same stereotypical sites in France or Italy or wherever. Another place to consider, if you want some beaches etc but still off the beaten path, is Croatia on the mediterranean. I've heard it's beautiful |

+26 Internets | The French Riviera isn't exactly ideal for a honeymoon in winter. It's not bad, but don't expect too much sun, and you're probably looking at temps in the 50's. Eomer's Croatia suggestion is a good one though. I've been trying to get over there for a few years now, but I always end up staying in France. It's cheap (in comparison to France or Italy) and, from the pics I've seen, amazing looking. Not sure about the weather, but I'm sure it's nicer than France at this time. |

+16 Internets | I don't think I'd be heading to Europe with this exchange rate. My top pics for a honeymoon would be: New Zealand Guadalajara (shameless plug) Argentina Peru

New Zealand is a pretty good idea, as well actually. It'd be early fall there, but the climate's pretty damn good year round. Obviously not as much historical site seeing, but a ton of fun active shit to do.

I was in Peru earlier this year with my wife, very cool trip. Cusco is a really fun city, and Machu Picchu was incredible. We did the Inca trail hike, but you can get there by train/bus from Cusco also. Incredible scenery. Lima was a shithole though, I wouldn't recommend much time there.

+5 Internets | Japan might work. It is really humid in the summer, but during the time you'll be going it is pretty nice (from my understanding, never been). Well, Tokyo is anyway. The suggestion I have from my Japanese teacher who grew up there is hit the any part of the coast on The Sea of Japan, because it was bombed less during WW2 and is more "Japanese." Apparently it has a ton of variety. |

+66 Internets | I was in Tokyo about a month later than when he's planning on going, and while the weather wasn't bad or anything, I don't know that I'd describe it as "pretty nice" either. It would be fairly cool in late Feb or early March. |
