Tampa

Forgot to start this last month

Fiance's family is there - its getting a little been there done that but....besides clearwater beach, international mall, Ybor etc.....wtf is there to do/see in Tampa?

PS - I have been to heaven (aka Bern's dessert room) and had the macadamia nut sundae.

Need ideas for what to do besides sit around for 3-4 days next time we go back.

Don't know where you are comming from but the beaches are great. I suggest you go to Island of Adventure in Orlando that place rocks and has something for everyone. Tampa it self has some good places like splitsville, but you already named what I can remember.

Salvador Dali museum is pretty much the only thing worth seeing there.

You could go to Busch Gardens (Theme park) or Adventure Island (Water Park) not to be confused with Islands of Adventure which is an orlando theme park.

The Seminole Hard Rock Casino has a pretty nice poker room, and recently added blackjack if that's your cup of tea.

There's always some sort of sporting event going on, Football, baseball, or hockey. And if that doesn't work you could always go to the 75 strip clubs in the area. =P

Lowery Park Zoo is neat, They rescue manatess's there, The Florida Aquaium and the rest of the Channelside area is cool too. If you want to see some nature and stuff I highly recomend the trails they have around the area. Greenways & Trails: West Central Region
You can walk, rollerblade or bicycle them. You can even rent bikes here https://securecart.net/page.cfm?doma...792A8C1390E678

MOSI (Museum of Science and Industry, I haven't been there in years but it's got some pretty cool stuff) is a good stop. If you don't want to go to Clearwater I'd suggest heading over to St. Pete Beach and eat at a place called The Hurricane. Local place that's been around forever and has some great seafood and all of their stuff (ie sauces and whatnot) is made from scratch. All else fails if you're there over a weekend (depending on the month of course) head to a Rays, Bucs, or Lightning game. I would also second Busch Gardens and Adventure Island depending on the time of year, I don't think Adventure Island is even open during the colder months seeing how it's a water park.

And yes, Bern's is probably the single greatest place I have ever eaten, which is unfortunate because I don't think I can ever find a better steak anywhere on earth. Dessert room is /boner as well.

I haven't had berns for dinner but I've heard its kinda meh - I don't even like macadamia nuts and I'm totally in love with their macadamia nut ice cream though. Its good though I find not eating a big meal before going there - I can't eat a lot in one sitting and a big dinner would ruin desert for me.

Another of my favorites down there is Cicco's and Tony's. its the second time I've heard about Hurricane's though so I'll definitely check it out next time! Thanks!

I've done the Busch Gardens thing down there and the MOSI - I'll have to check out the Dali museum I've never been! Thanks!

Shoeby - eventually I'll hit Mon's

Lou Malanatis > Giordanos

Also Mise En Place is pretty good if you want a fancier sort of dinner.

As a 20 year resident of Chicago I will have to agree that Lou Malnatti's is better. That butter crust is great.

Is there a Lou Malanatis in Tampa? Otherwise this means nothing to me. Giordanos is only 5 min away from me. I am not going to fly to Chicago for pizza.
