| Hong Kong So I live in Okinawa and have a 4 day weekend for the 4th. A couple of friends and I were thinking of taking a flight to Hong Kong. I know a number of people on this board have taught english/traveled in Asia so I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations. We're big on nightlife but obviously need something to do during the day as well. |

+2 Internets | I am going to take a wild shot and say you are in the military. The good clubs are expensive. Looking like you are in the military doesn't score you any points. Also expect to be overlooked unless you drive an expensive car and are wearing expensive clothes. Many Hong Kong girls are matierialistic, the good looking ones moreso. Try out expat hangouts, as the attitudes and atmosphere are much more comfortable. What is a hot club this year will be a failure next, so you need someone who has been to HK recently to give you advice. I haven't been to HK in 3 years, so I have no idea what is good now. Post 97 and Joey Banana's used to be good places to unwind years ago, but they probably don't exist today. Bars high up in hotels are also great because of the view. For things to see and do during the day, I found Victoria Peak and Lantau Island interesting. Stanly Market and repulse bay are also high on the list. You might want to look into Macau if you like to gamble. |

| Hong kong is the last place you go in asia if your big on night life. Try Thailand, or even mainland China in Shenzhen. Hong kong is only good for shopping, sweating and being sold suits by indians and pakistani people. Last edited by Usha Starchild; 06-26-2009 at 12:21 AM.. |
