If you're ok with a long drive you can take him to protest the slave practices of the Church of Scientology at their world headquarters in Hemet. Pretty sure there will be a demonstration that weekend and if not you can bond together by protesting alone.

pro's: You can both wear funny costumes and hold wacky signs.
You can get the word out about this cult.

cons: It's a long drive.
It's not safe to protest when you have a sniper team setup across the road and aiming at you.
If the Church of Scientology is able to identify you (taking pictures of your face and hiring PI's to track you down or recording the license plate of your vehicle) you can expect to be harassed by them for years to come. Including but not limited to: death threats, blackmail, personal information/lies leaked to your work, etc.

Do something you'll never forget! For more information you can visit this site.

I'm going down to Aliso Viejo for a few days next week for business. I'm not familiar with OC at all so I'm looking for stuff to do. I like live music, but I'm sure that will be in short supply. I also like drinking. Drinking and seeing music. Drinking and playing music. Drinking and karaoke. Drinking and playing pool/foosball/shuffleboard/other bar game. Drinking and exploring. I'm sure I can ask some of the people I'm there to train, but I'm not sure if this company is full of a bunch of fuddy-duddies or partiers. I will have a rental car. I'll probably make the trip up to Culver City for Father's Office, because that place is bomb. Other than that, I've no clue.

That's a bitch of a drive for one meal. Aliso Viejo is kinda out of the way, and I'm not too familiar w/ south OC. But Irvine should have a pretty decent assortment of bars etc as UC Irvine is up there. Huntington Beach has a pretty decent little downtown/main street deal, lots of restaurants, bars, clubs, etc. If you appreciate delicious meat in mass quantities, be sure to hit up Agora Churrascaria | The Best Steakhouse in Orange County My fiancee's parents who lived in Brazil for ~20 years said it's the best they've had since living there.

Rav isn't too far from down there, might want to get a hold of her.

I looked up the drive earlier trying to figure out logistics and you are correct. As good as that place is, I'm not driving over an hour on the 405 into LA.

You could try making it down to Stone Brewing Co., it'll be close to an hour drive, but much easier as there isn't too much in the way city wise. And a good portion of the trip has a pretty nice view of the ocean.

If you want to pig out on pretty good food you could go to the Sunday brunch on the Queen Mary in Long Beach. The tour is pretty interesting as well. That boat has an amazing history. It's a touristy thing to do but I enjoyed it.

Second the Queen Mary. It's worth doing once if you're not too far away.

I ended up meeting some friends from Ventura halfway in LA. I'm sure I'll find myself there again. I do business in SoCal rather regularly. Went to downtown Huntington Beach, too. Really dug that area.

Nowhere in particular. I just walked around Main St. It was pretty late once I got there so things were starting to die down. I had already eaten at that point and had enough drinks that I didn't think drinking more would've been a good idea since I had to drive back.

I've been meaning to make it out there one of these days, but that shit's getting pricey. $70 for roundtrip ticket.
