| Vegas trip! Ok so as much as my thoughts tell me I shouldnt do this I will. Taking a trip to Vegas on the 25th for a week. Looking for things to do off the strip, or great places to eat. I wanted to goto the bar in the Star Trek experience, but apparently they closed it down. Looking for some ideas! |

| List of top reviewed places, didn't really look through it, but I find Yelp to be pretty reliable.Restaurants Las Vegas | Yelp - sorted by rating Some of my favorites: Crown and Anchor Brittish Pub great atmosphere and low on tourists. Pretty good selection of beer on tap from what I recall. Buffets: Wynn or Bellagio Indian: Gandhi India's Cuisine - great small place. every time i've been the clientele has been around ~80% indian people. Delicious. Mexican: Viva Zapatas Mexican Restaurant & Cantina - North Las Vegas, NV Mediterranean/Greek: Baladie Cafe - Las Vegas, NV - Another little place. The owner pretty much always recognizes if you're a first time customer, and will remember if/when you go a second time. Fries to bury granny in the backyard for. Quite possibly the best gyro i've ever had as well. Off the strip activities: Red Rock Canyon: Red Rock Canyon $5 or so for entrance/parking there's a ~13 mi drive with maybe 10 stops where you can get out to hike trails/pictures/picnic ![]() Valley of Fire: Nevada Division of State Parks - Valley of Fire State Park ethel M chocolate factory tour

+1 Internets | Ellis Island Casino (Connected to a Super 8 motel off strip) has a steak dinner which comes with 2 veggies, soup or salad, and a micro brewed beer for like 6 bucks or something crazy like that. The food was pretty good. Really liked there Hefe weiss beer too. Brand in the Monte Carlo (Steakhouse) was absolutely fantastic. The wife and I ate there, it was about $150 for the two of us. The Buffet at the Wynn is incredible (Go for lunch, trust me) at 40 bucks a person it should be, but is fantastic. Go see Penn & Teller at the Rio. Don't think, just do it. Their show was fantastic. Don't waste your time with Lance Burton at the Monte Carlo, he was weaksauce. The Wife and I really enjoyed Mac King's afternoon show at Harrah's. Some cool magic, but a very funny guy. We also saw O at the Bellagio. That was a great show, but i'm still bleeding rectally from the $170 apiece ticket prices. If you're a drinker, there's a little tiki bar that is down past la salsa cantina, on that side of the strip(Somewhere around across the street from Monte Carlo). She got a margarita in a bone shaped glass that was so big it had to come with a neck strap. (We measured it out later, was around 3 liters) It was $40 but refills were half price, so go early and go often. There's also an ice bar at the end of the mall that connects Luxor and Mandalay Bay (On the mandalay bay side) Neat Experience. There's a French crepe place in Caesar's Palace that was fantastic (Nutella Banana crepes for the win) I believe it's called Pastiard. Crepe's were better there than at Paris. Go figure. Speaking of, don't waste your time at the buffet at Paris. That was a waste of 37 dollars each. I'll 2nd going to red rock canyon, that was some beautiful scenery. 1 more word of advice, you're in a desert. Water is your friend. There's an on-strip CVS between Bellagio and Monte Carlo on that side of the street. It's a great place to stock up on bottled water on the cheap. Have fun, Vegas is fucking sick. |

+3 Internets | Go try the indoor sky diving. Or you can hit 55mph on zip line across the canyons. Google both of em.

Go see Ka at the MGM Grand. It's worth it, don't skimp on the tickets... get one as close to the stage as possible. | |

+1 Internets | Seeing how I will be down there the week prior... my recommendations. Daniel Tosh- probably one of the funniest comedians around IMO Mar 27 House of Blues --- Apart from that, my favorite thing to do in LAS is to go some truly phenomenal restaurants. Most of these places will run you $300 - $500 per couple. Joel Robuchon has two amazing restaurants at MGM: L'atelier (4 diamond) and Joel Robuchon (5 diamond) Bobby Flay has his signature Mesa Grill at Caesar's Palace. Mandalay Bay has Aureole. A must if you are a wine lover. They bring a tablet over with about 2500+ wines on it and you narrow down your selection by variety, type, price, etc. Then they have a hot girl rappell down a 3 story-tall wine wall to fetch your bottle. If you like Sushi I would recommend Sushi Roku at the Forum Shops. This will probably run you under $250 / couple-- even if you get the special Chef's Omakase (HIGHLY recommend, $90 / person). Have fun.
