| Fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuucccck man.... Absolutely brutal. The sad part is I have little doubt that almost all of that is true because it lines up and explains so well the reality of so many of those situations.

| A Bearded Gnome | The NBA is dirty. I have no doubts about it. They almost got busted during that Kings/Lakers series but that Congressman backed off.

| I was so hoping that the NBA wouldnt come to an agreement with the NBA ref's. I want them to just start over fresh. NBA needs all new ref's time to cut all of them off.

| Bulls down by one, .3 seconds left. They inbound to Brad Miller who just tosses it from the top of the key and it fucking goes in. They spend 5 minutes reviewing probably the closet basketball review I've ever seen and take the basket away. You literally could not tell if he go the shot off in time from 5 different angles in frame by frame slow motion. It was insanely close.

| We bawlin boi! | Yea, if anything, Sterns very generic response leads me to think that there is a lot of smoke here that will lead to a lot more fire.

+5 Internets | Not really a surprise there. Lakers are the better team, plus the Suns were gassed from that brutal east coast trip. Rough start to the year, playing Boston, Orlando, Lakers and Miami all in the first 10 games. I'll be interested to see how their next game goes, when both are more on an even playing field. (Pau should be back then too) |

I have no doubt that star players get calls, etc., but I always laugh when 2002 LAL/SAC Game 6 comes up. Lakers/Kings game 6: 40 FTA for LA to 25 FTA for the Kings, but Shaq was in his prime and got fouled on nearly every play. Personal fouls were 24 against LA to 31 against the Kings, but again, Shaq was in his prime. Coaches would send in the 2nd and 3rd string Center/PF to intentionally foul and send Mr. 50% to the line. A +7 PF advantage is not that unexpected considering Shaq. Hell, Scott Pollard and Lawrence Thunderburke averaged 1 foul per 2 minutes guarding Shaq because they wrapped him up everytime he got the ball. And no one seems to mention game 5 (Kings won by 1). PF were 27 against LA to 20 against the Kings. Again, did Shaq not play? In a close game they aren't sending Shaq to the line intentionally? Rick Adleman invented Hack-a-Shaq. And let's not forget that after Bibby hit the game winning jumper with something like 8 or 10 seconds left on the clock, he absolutely mugged Kobe on his final shot and there was no call - literally pulled Kobe's shirt out of his shorts on that last play. If game 6 was pro-LA, game 5 was pro-Kings. Divac, Pollard and Thunderburke (DNP) only had 3 personal fouls guarding Shaq for the 32 minutes he was on the floor in game 5, but those three players had 15 over 44 minutes in game 6. 1 foul per 3 minutes might seem excessive, but intentional/hard fouls against Shaq were the norm back then. +58 Internets | Yeah people are too quick to believe everything he says because people want to believe it due to how much the officiating in the NBA has been under question lately. I don't understand why if you think they set up the finals the Pistons or Spurs would ever be in the finals. I don't mean to say I think they're all false. Things like 'the first foul' excerpt seem totally plausible to me. And of course if you ref in a league long enough you're going to have players you dislike and players you do like. |
