| So I realize there aren't many Jets fans on the board.. but I thought Sanchez looked a LOT better these past 2 preseason games compared to the first 2, partly because Ravens secondary seemed a lot better than Giants/Eagles, but I think he's growing into the role more and more. A huge part of our season rides on his rookie year, I'm really hoping he can turn into a flacco/ryan/roethlisberger, would really shake up some of the predictions IMO. Still feel like the Pats will clinch our division, but I could see a wildcard in it for us. Also, I thought Vick looked pretty shaky overall in the game, fumbling at least twice? And one sack he backpedaled for like 15+ yards. He did have one nice run. |

| We bawlin boi! | It's hard to judge a lot by preseason, mainly because defenses are so incredibly vanilla. Sanchez does seem to have some moxy about him though, but the biggest problem he has is who does he throw to? He doesnt have the safety blankets to help him out like those guys you mentioned, so its understandable why the Jets would be after a guy like B. Marshall if Denver wanted to do something ultimately.

| Brilliant! | Vick has been out of football for 2 years. He's not going to come in and make an immediate impact, and that will be hampered by overall playing time (little, at best) and the fact that he won't be able to play again until week 3. Mosely over at ESPN thinks it's a potential blowup situation waiting to happen because of how competitive Vick is. He won't be happy as a backup/situational QB for very long. For now he's probably just happy someone gave him a chance but if we don't see anything happen this year, I would expect next year's Eagles training camp (assuming they pick up the second year option) to be very interesting. |

However, the pathway to success is there, and it lies in Washington, Jones and Keller. These are guys that should get alot of touches as Sanchez will need to checkdown often. Hitting those reads will open up the wideouts more. Jones is going to have to pound early and often and keep Sanchez out of the Rookie QB nightmare: 3rd and 5 or more. Flacco and Ryan took great advantage of their respective running games. Ryan had a bit better receiving corp, Flacco had better backs. Both utilized what they had and got better as they went along. Haven't looked at the Jets schedule in depth but the only D in their division I would honestly worry about in terms of sheer pressure would be Miami, which is helpful. On a side note, are there even any other Packer fans on the board? I see a lot of Dallas fans and more East coast fans, haven't seen much for Packers, or even Vikings for that matter.

| We bawlin boi! | Well listening to Deion Sanders who I guess knows his situation, it looks about 99% sure that Crabtree is going to sit out the entire year. The stupid thing is, I cant see him going higher than 3rd next year. I just dont think there is any fucking way he goes ahead of Dez Bryant or Arrelious Benn who are both bigger targets compared to him, so even if he waits, imo he will still lose.

| A Bearded Gnome | I'd be very leery of drafting Crabtree. He could very well sit another year.

I'm sticking to my guns that he signs by no later than week 4, and he could well sign before week 1. When he starts missing checks, he's gonna recognize his situation a little better. Even Andre Titties wasn't that stupid.

| We bawlin boi! | From what Deion was saying (interview is on NFL.com), it sounds like the gap between what Crabtree wants and what the 49ers are paying is about as wide as the grand canyon. Apparently Crabtree and his agent think the dropoff from contracts in the range of 40 million to the 20s is the fault of stupid negotiators ahead of him who signed too early, and that he is worth a lot more than being slotted with guys who are all getting paid too low. Hes an idiot if he thinks SF is going to pay him well above what guys above him got, and it sounds like Deion was saying "Crabtree looks at the money as hes not missing something he doesnt have", and that he will be fine sitting this season out. I dunno, just go watch the interview, it seems like hes getting VERY bad advice and sounds like Deion Sanders is even taking his side. But Deion only cared about money too, so its not surprising. And like I said, go pop in youtube highlight tapes of guys like Dez Bryant and Arrelious Benn, because I dont see Crabtree giong ahead of either. Personally I think Benn is the best WR in college, hes got an Andre Johnson type of frame (6-3 220 I think)....with speed, hands, and is just all around better than Crabtree imo. I guess Crabtree will go to a better team though when he gets drafted midway or later in the draft? :P

+9 Internets | I saw that 21st and Prime crap on Total access before the Vikings game. NICE SHIRT AND TIE COMBO PRIME. Anyway, Deion, Keyshawn, all those dumbfuck prima donna ex player analysts dance to the same pied piper's tune: "pay the man". Fuck them. Either he signs his deal, or he goes back in the pile with baggage and comes off worse. I know his agent isn't stupid, in fact he is very well respected amongst owners. He will cut the cord with this dipshit if he sits too long. Maybe his "cousin" can get him a better deal when he's a day 2 (I guess it's really day 3 now) pick. This year's college crop overall is strong. '09 was a pretty weak draft at many positions. So he better wise up. Man, all this vitriol over a guy I could care less about requires a mood lightener. This receiver knows the meaning of life. |
