Cutler needs to know that the clock doesn't stop on a first down in the NFL. How do you not work the sidelines, or at least work it deeper. I don't care what Matt Millen says.

Well he did fine, he's got 13 seconds from the 12 with his timeout in hand. Played it perfectly really, fortunate.

no way he makes that if he runs 12 yards out imo though, don't know how slow they think the 49ers D is. I had Olsen too, so close!

I still don't like it. You allow them to play their prevent and work the clock all the way down, but you're not close enough to run the ball and use your timeout as a threat. It could have worked, but you can't settle for that.

Edit: And Jay can just do that.

Bears deserve what they get, thinking the grass is always greener on the other side of the road. Fuckin morons. Had a reliable QB in Orton and got greedy. Enjoy the next four season of mediocrity.

A better arm means nothing if you throw 0 tds and 5 ints. This isnt exactly some statistical anomaly for Cutler either.

So Cutler has 17 int's after 8 games...he is approaching Brett Favre levels of interceptions here. I couldn't even watch this game after the first half. I'm near the point of just giving up on the 49'ers for the season honestly. If we have to rely on Alex Smith being our QB then we may as well just assume we're fucked. It's too bad too because I think with a good quarterback the niners would be outstanding. They really have just about every other piece of the puzzle, but their QB situation is just atrocious.

I should mention that someone (Coach) needs to tell Cutler that every play doesnt have to be a touchdown. I'm not brainwashed as a Bears fan, Cutler killed us this game.

I agree, what the hell was with the 20+ yard throws when the Bears got the ball back... you've got like 3 minutes, take what you're given and march. Instead a ticky tack foul that really should have been chalked up to 'letting the guys play' at that point int he game gave them a 1st on the failed 4th down. It should have ended right there with the poor judgement and/or playcalling, instead it ends on an even more embarrassing INT.
