+9 Internets | I deadlifted 515 today from about 2" below the knees. Still making progress. Hoping for a 300lb bench before the new year. At 280 now. Might take a video and post it just for tenks' sake. Assuming I can figure out how to get it from my phone to here. |

| I was sick for 2 weeks and just did a lot of fast walking on the treadmill, about 90kms this week. According to the fat machine I've lost 2% body fat in the past month and a half. The owner of my gym (Chinese bodybuilder here in China, consistently finished top 4 in most comps) just decided to come manage the gym I work out in personally. I trained with him yesterday and he has lots of good tips. I feel tiny when standing next to him. |

+5 Internets | I am still focused, down to 174lb from 176lb in a week since swaping out milk for water in 2 of my 3 shakes. I have had a lot of people at work come up and ask me wtf I have been doing recently which is always nice, I just explain to them my diet and exercise routine is and many have actually started doing something themselves. |

+64 Internets | I moved back to NYC, but in Westchester now. The only gyms around is a "wellness club" and planet fitness. Fuck that. Stuck with bodyweight exercises for now. I have also been running 3 times a week. I retook the NYPD exam and aced it, so I want to be ready for the academy. My brother just got accepted into the ESU unit of his correctional facility so he needs to train as well. It helps a lot to have someone to run with, especially since I haven't done cardio in forever. Yesterday's 2 mile run was in 19:50. Trying to get that down to at least 8 minutes a mile by next month.

+9 Internets | I know, he's hilarious. He's incredibly explosive, and it seems like he's got a bullet proof back. Some of those squats are painful to watch. He squats rippetoe style with the elbows back instead of down, more forward lean, and he just muscles it up with his ultra strong back. The scene where he's in a thong doing power snatches(I think) at his planet fitness is fucking gold. |

+9 Internets | Finding a good gym nowadays is fucking hard. I got lucky. Mine has 2 power racks, 2 squat racks, DBs up to 200lbs, chalk is no problem, I bring my chains in there sometimes to bench with, anything goes. The only way I'd leave this place is if I opened my own gym(unlikely). |

I used to lift at a World Gym here and it was open 24 hours so times that people came were so spread out it was rarely busy. That was right before I hurt my back, and I stopped going, and then they revoked my membership cause I didn't pay for a month. Lol. The gym-rat oriented gyms here are owned by shitty characters and dirty as fuck. Not like Metroflex or something where everything is really primitive but it is run by good people. I mean dirty. Disgusting bathrooms, they don't clean the equipment, and so on. The last gym I trained at was small and it was 3 floors so shit was spread out. I'd have to use the power rack and then walk down 2 flights of steps to do extensions or something. And this is why I now train at home. Last edited by arkk123; 11-12-2009 at 03:41 PM.. | |

| Why don't we have a real competition where some extra motivation can be provided? Meaning... the people who want to join the compeition pay some sort of entrance fee... say 10 or 20 dollars. I personally vote Tuco as the treasurer for the event, should it happen. Once we reach some sort of deadline, we determine how much money was collected and we determine what the grand prize will be. Throw in a couple of judges we know who aren't bias and also determine how they will score. I would definitely enter the competition if we did something like this. |
