| June 22nd: Weight: 192lbs Height: 6'1" Body fat: Apparently 20%, (One of those machines you stand on , input your age and weight and hold your arms out. Not sure how accurate they are though.) Ill post photos later today when I get home. Should photos be relaxed, flexing or just after gym? |

Current Mesurments: Biceps: 16.5" (Flexed) Stomach: 35" Chest: 41" Quads: 23.6" Calves: 15.5" My upperbody workouts are pretty heavy, I can bench 220 for 6 reps with no spotter, curl 60lb dumbells without swinging for 4-5 reps each arm etc.. My legs are horrible, as you can see by the measurements posted above. Goal: Lose 4-5% bodyfat, nothing else. How Im going to to it: Mixture of HIIT, Swimming, Midweight workouts and slight diet improvments. Edit: Apparently trying to flex makes double chins! (Note to self: Next time push head forward.) | You probably aren't 20%. Close maybe, but not that high. The only thing calipers/scales are good for when it comes to measuring bodyfat is charting progress, and even that is sketchy. The actual reading is not accurate. |

Any advice on losing fat but keeping muscle? It seems like this is the hardest scenario to be in. Gaining muscle is pretty easy by lifting hard and packing in the calories. Losing weight is pretty basic if you just consume less calories than you burn. Losing weight while trying to build or stay at the same strength seems like its seems very difficult I know I can just lift hard and build muscle and the fat will slowly go away as muscle requires more calories to maintain, but that route can take a long long time. Where would I want my calories at? Should I just try and loose weight and worry about gaining muscles back later? Thanks Last edited by Usha Starchild; 06-23-2009 at 01:18 AM.. | |

| Maybe Tuco or someone with some webspace will throw up a quick website with all the before pics. When the competition is done we can have votes on the after pics. fitness.fohguild.org? ![]() Also, is it three months? Tuco didn't make it really clear in his post? |

------------ Also, For Ark or anyone else, what do you think about using Creatine during a fat burning? Some recommend it, some don't. I figure the fat will burn all the same, but the scale might not change much because of the water retention. After the cycle that shpuld drop off fast though right?
