Bama overtook Texas for #2 - Notre Dame ranked again and, Miami back in top 10 and USC climbs a spot in the rankings despite not playing..

VT was in the top 5 with a loss. Being ranked with 2 losses (especially when they're both by 1 point losses against ranked teams, without their AA DT/TE/QB) isn't a stretch this year.

However... something you failed to miss.

The point was if they're ranked 19 without Bradford, why would they be ranked 20 with him? Do you understand the point yet? Let me know.

Fuck the polls. A 40th ranked team in week 1 could beat the preseason #1 and jump 25 spots and then the previous #1 could go 2-9 for the rest of the season still and the team who beat them week 1 would still get the benefit of just beating them when they were overranked as fuck. It's really the most idiotic system in sports.

Im almost ready to be done with cfb until a playoff is put in place. If fans everywhere would miraculously unify and boycott the fucking sport it would happen in a week, but it wont. Best chance is if the president ever steps in like he said he would, but, I dont think it will happen.

Aren't the BCS computers designed specifically to avoid this? Who you beat matters a lot and you actually lose strength when the people you beat lose more games. At least it used to work that way, maybe it's changed.

The 5 different computers are wildly different in their own rankings, and still you have the coaches poll who factors into what, like 1/3? I know Sagarins computer model does a lot of what you said, with the whole transitive properties of cfb winning, and you see a bunch of weird teams ranked high who arent even in the top 25 sometimes. It's just such a huge mess, 8-16 team playoff with conference champs and maybe some outside bcs teams would just be so much better and we could have a real champion in cfb instead of a BCS champ which people still dont agree on (see Utah last year and so forth).

dont be fooled with the "1 point loss " the UM loss was one point because miami kneel down the last 2 minutes, even at FG range.

UM manhandled OU, Even with 2 INT you couldn't get over UM.

Yea I understand it but I just don't have any sympathy because they don't even deserve the spot they were demoted to this week. Do you understand that?

Also, I'd say fuck you for the neg but I'm going to assume it was one of those assholes that hand out negs and put someone else's name on it.

I'm a Texas fan, not an OU fan. And what the fuck are you talking about? UM was down 10-0 in the game. Yeah they came back and won, but there was no manhandling going on there. OU even had their shot there at the end and conservative playcalling instead netted them a FG with the hopes of a stop, which they just didn't get. Jesus I'm tired of arguing with people who just make brash idiotic statements like that.

Thanks for the neg (I assume, I gave you a + out of spite since that would seem to hurt more). Like VT, you've got some games to play that might not pan out as well as you would have hoped. Unlike you, I'm here all year and willing to deal with the down times.

I got into an argument with a UVA fan the other day. Go look at the VT roster and see how many are in-state. Compare that to any other team in the country. Beamer, for better or worse, gets almost all in-state talent. You play VT, you are playing mostly an all-star VA team. Personally I kinda like that, but when we come up against an Alabama or USC team recruiting from all over the country, well you know how that goes.
