How're everyone's spring practices/games going? I know some schools had their spring game already. We're putting together a pretty impressive class, getting commitments from practically all the top players in-state so far. The big fish of this class for us is Jake Heaps, who is probably going to be rated the #1 QB in the country for this year. People who are in the loop say we have about a 70% chance of landing him. Sark is really starting off on a good foot.

Saw the Hogs practice yesterday. They can't look any worse than the previous 10 years right? Petrino is the right coach for them hands down. Nutt is where he belongs and Petrino in the latter.

They will not finish last in the SEC west.

In Gator news....they will fiinish first in the SEC east. ETA until WHATMYDAWGSUX enters the thread.

About a week ago? Try reading before you embarrass yourself, champ.

It's way too early for you to go into full douchebag mode anyway Regime. You gotta build up to it! I understand there's a race to see which UF fan can be the biggest dick before the season kicks off, but don't be that guy.

After we win this year, Jesus/Tebow will invite all of his followers directly to heaven via touchdown pass.

A bold prediction with Miss. St. in the west. We'll see how Arkansas plays, but I'm skeptical that they will be competitive with the big dogs. Ole Miss lost a lot, but has plenty of good players coming back. They should win 9 or so. Alabama is the clear favorite and LSU will be strong to quite strong. Auburn is likely to be terrible.

It's hard to like anyone but Florida in the east. I see another "down" year for the SEC, much like last year, followed by a few dominant years when Tennessee and Georgia recover.

I'm going to the A-day exhibition next weekend, but I have a feeling it's going to be a rough year for our boys. Hopefully we can pull .500 this year and maybe a bowl, but I doubt it.

Huge Michigan and Texas fan here, both of which have had there spring games.

In Michigan's spring game the biggest story was the absolute competency of Tate Forcier. If you watched them at all last year then you would understand why merely decent qb play coupled with the ability of the o line to actually block bodes very well. Here goes a 6-6 record with a shot at the motor city bowl baby!

Texas' spring game, on the other hand was meh. Only got to see 1/2 of it between my dvr and espnu's love of retarded ass baseball games that are already decided in the 7th inning. However, understand that we will be big 12 champs next year and we don't even have to beat OU (thanks for that btw).

Our spring game is the same day as the NFL draft. So much football in one day, it will be great (unless the weather is shitty). Also, don't worry about LSU in the SEC West, they'll have a hard time recovering after UW knocks them off in the season opener in Seattle.

I'm actually slightly joking.

People take way too much from the spring games, its ridiculous. First off, offenses look bad this time of year unless you have a returning unit with 10-11 starters. The time it takes offenses to get in synch is always about 10x longer than defenses, and the same reason offenses are usually struggling even in the NFL in the preseason games and first games of the year.

Defensive players cant wallop the QB in these games, usually the contact is limited and if you breathe on him they will just call it as a sack.

Ya i know what ya mean. That's why my short snips were kinda jokingly, I mean Forcier had 4 tds in our 'scrimmage', and only threw 3 incomplete passes, but I go with merely competent because who knows what a true freshman will do this fall, or even if he will be the starter (but i can hope).

And with Texas it's different, Colt had a pretty bad day by his standards and the worst I thought was meh, not omgzor the sky is falling.

I do however enjoy the last taste of semi real football before the cold dark summer winter known as summer, ya know.

Yea I've heard good things about Forcier from some Michigan fans too. Rich needs a dynamic QB to run that offense, Im sure even as a freshman it couldn't be worse than last season. Sucks you guys lost McGuffie though....he seemed to flash some moments of being special.

I love McGuffie and I wish him the best at rice, but that boy was not built to take punishment from bcs level opponents. Pretty sure he had 2 or 3 concussions and I can't count how many times I saw him do the splits because he got hit square while lunging forward, luckily he was a gymnast. I'm sure he's going to do great at Rice, he speed was legit and I will forever remember him as the only bright spot in our game against notre dame last year.

But ya, this year we have minor (starter), brown (please gawd don't get hurt again this season), grady, shaw, and a true freshman vincent smith (doesn't have the moves of mcguffie, but has the speed and can absorb a hit a lot better). So hopefully that should be enough depth with the way richrod plays ball.

You will have to beat Texas Tech, though.

minor is a fumble machine.. at least he used to be.... IM suspect of Um and we will see how they are this season.. I think 6-6 is optimistic, but obtainable.
