Surprisingly this is a *best* live link I have ever seen. I do wish I was in your shoes though.

Nice pass

BYU-OU is a tight game, and BYU playing much better than I would have thought.

There needs to be a mercy rule for the Florida game.

OU doesnt really have another game until Texas on the 17th of Oct so if Bradford is only going to be out a few weeks they should be fine (if they get past BYU).

09/12/09 vs. Idaho State TV Norman 6:00 PM CT
09/19/09 vs. Tulsa TV Norman 2:30 PM CT
10/03/09 at Miami TV Miami, Fla. TBA
10/10/09 vs. Baylor TV Norman TBA

Ohio State is over-ranked because we played well in our bowl game last year against a team that was supposed to blow us out. The problem is that we graduated / lost most of the defense, Chris Wells, and our best receivers. Their replacements are simply not as talented and/or inexperienced. (Who would pick Heron even two years from now over Wells last year, even with the chronic ankle problems?)

It's no excuse for a team that should have elite recruiting pull. It's been a disappointing 3 years in bowl games, and Ohio isn't the most fun place to live, but we spend a lot of money on sports programs. For a good comparison, look at USC. They replace great players every year, and every year have amazing/prepared athletes and good bowl performances.

In particular, both offensive and defensive lines for OSU looked terrible. The offensive line faltered run and pass blocking, and I didn't even notice the def. line except when Navy ran 20-30 yards down huge, gaping holes in the middle of the field. A bunch of big, fat kids getting knocked to their knees and slowly standing back up...

We won simply due to some lucky (though forced) turnovers, and Pryor's running ability against an inferior defense. (USC shut him down in the 2nd half last year).

I can't even say the poor performance was playing down to Navy's level. These don't seem to be the kind of problems you can fix by watching extra film and improving attitude, even in games you're expected to win.

An interesting thought immediately post game: considering USC kicked our asses last year (though with some what-ifs it could, at best, have been a close loss), and we're a far inferior team this year, how will fans respond to likely getting our asses kicked next week?

Here is a summary of the worst losses at Ohio Stadium since 2000, (Tressel's first year was 2001):
2000: two 12 point home losses
2001: 12 point loss
2003: 14 point home loss
2004: 11 point loss

I just don't see USC not putting up big numbers against the defense I saw today, and our offense does not seem capable of sustained drives. USC's defense will not give up so many easy points / long 3rd down conversions / turnovers.

You despise UVa why? As an alum I'm pretty fucking proud to have gone there. Yeah the football program has gone from respectable to 100% irrelevant since Groh took over, so I cannot imagine why you'd have such hatred for it. Yeah we beat WVU a few years ago in some retarded Tire bowl, but who gives a shit about any bowl that isn't the NC? And I'm sure I hate the football program more than you ever could.

I didn't think we'd win because our QB just graduated, but the new guy (a converted receiver) appears to be a lot less turn-over prone. Great play by our D despite the loss of Derek Cox to the NFL. Hilarious game to watch especially since like 25% of my high school class went to UVa and I'm at W&M and they were all cocky before this game. Groh is toast.

The funny thing is that we might not even be in the top 4 teams in our conference, it's like if the best teams from the SEC and the Big 12 were in the same conference except in 1-AA.

Uhh Baylor and Maimi are not easy games in the least. Tulsa also is a better than average team. I am in no way shape or form a Sooners fan but one thing I always admire about Stoopes is he doesnt schedule cream puff teams for the most part. Miami, Tulsa, and BYU are good out of conference teams.
