And the first person to respond with any variation of "If you don't think XXX disrespecting YYY had anything to do with that blowout you are a fool!." is a fucking mongoloid. They play to win every week. That shit NEVER determines a win or a loss. At most it might contribute to an asshole team tacking on an extra TD or 3(GRATS 07 PATS!).

| If you don't think motivation matters then you probably have never played sports.

| My favorite team's quarterbacks before the season started were Kerry Fucking Collins(affectionately dubbed KFC) and Vince Young. Trust me when I tell you that my expectations have already been exceeded and that everything from here on out is just a bonus.

| The Giants, based on conference record. 2 losses in the NFC compared to the Panthers 3.

| Brilliant! | Not going to happen. Carolina Defense just pulled a Dallas Defense. They're lucky Ward isn't a speed back or that was a quick 6. As it is, if the Giants don't win now that'll be extremely epic fail. Edit: And it's over. They ran it right down Carolina's throat. Giants have the #1 seed locked up and Carolina is now in a position of needing to win their final game or they won't win the division and won't even have a home game unless they face the #6 seed in the NFC Championship. What I will bring up is the fact that these guys are human. They need external motivations just like anyone else. They respond to objective motivation like outright disrespect of their fans just like anyone else would. And that's what this was. That towel didn't represent the opposing team...it represents the opposing team's fans. All of that aside, it was simply classless. If the only important stuff is the stuff that happens on the field, then why be a dick about it? You won. You won big. The man is on the ground. The ref has counted him out. What's the point in walking over and kicking him? Lack of class. A win isn't enough anymore? | |

| Two things: A) Pittsburgh had Joey Porter on their team for years. They supported him and cheered for him. He is a grade A example of poor sportsmanship. B) The Titans are 12-2. They are playing at home. Yet they are picked to lose by every major media outlet and every member of their hometown media. Then you add in the army of bandwagon Steeler fans(almost as bad as cowboy fans) who invade our stadium and twirl their stupid hankies around and you get the recipe for a bunch of pissed off Titans. So they kicked the Steelers' ass without their two top defensive players, took homefield advantage, and then stomped on their stupid dish rag. This is the NFL. I'm sure if some asshole Brown fan came to Pittsburgh's stadium wearing a dawg mask and woofed it up in your face for three hours the fans and players there would be really receptive and loving toward him. Bullshit. I'm also sure the Pittsburgh fans have said nothing but nice things about Ray Lewis and the Baltimore Ravens over the last decade, right? Not saying I support any player acting like an ego maniacal teenage girl desperate for attention, but the uproar in response to the stupid towel stomp is fucking ridiculous. The Steeler fans' tears are delicious, and I have just the thing if they'd like something to wipe them away: ![]()

+44 Internets | What is this, WWF? Nice little faux drama you've crafted here. It's a fucking towel. I think I'm a little more concerned with Roethlisberger's 57 fumbles than I am with any post-game prop-comedy by some Titan player or Gilgamel's little chest thumping tissy fit over one regular season victory(totally sick troll bro, did you high-five yourself when you were finished typing it out?) The Steelers offense has been completely incompetent all year, and it comes as no surprise to me -- or any other fan that actually payed attention this year -- when their terrible offense costs them a game. Especially against teams that are actually good like the Titans, and not just teams that are pretend-good like the Cowboys.
