80m for one player, for 20m more you could buy Newcastle United *shakes head*

Talented out the arse obviously but such a twat with it, sadly the Henry's of the world are much rarer than the likes of Drogba and Ronaldo. 80m though and he's been told he can have the lot, thats a couple of world class players and a couple more heavy lifting squad types.

Wonder if Tevez will change his mind and stay now?

I have a soft spot for Arsenal, hope they keep Fabregas etc and can attract some experience to go with their young 'uns. With Man City's money sniffing around, dropping out of the big four will see them lose almost everything that makes them what they are.

Well, the money is way over the top, clearly. No player is actually worth that money in pure footballing terms. It's a pretty big risk for United to take. If it works, and they successfully reinvest the money in the team, they could be better overall. If they don't spend it, or the buys don't work out, they will have trouble matching an improved Chelsea (who I assume will get Pato at least).

That said, if they buy De Rossi and Benzema, I think they'll be in good shape.

yeah, looks like chelsea and Man U would have a tight to the wire battle over the runners up spot. too early to tell which of them will get it.

Well, no offense to Liverpool, but I can't see them being able to duplicate last season without bringing in another world class player, and all their transfer targets are likely to be targets of clubs with more to spend.

Chelsea, on the other hand, were right there despite changing managers mid-season and Drogba being terrible for a large portion of the season. If they bring in Pato and a world class attacking midfielder they will be quite formidable.

The room for liverpool to improve is so much greater then Man U or chelsea though. The defense will be as strong as ever. The first 11 is probably strongest in the league, just the lack of defense or cover for injuries is needed. It's going to be hard duplicating the results against the top 4, given we were close to perfect, but with some more depth, 1 or 2 top class players, 2 or 3 squad players, we should be able to turn the far too much draws into wins.

Well, I think it's true that there's more room for improvement on Liverpool's squad. I just don't think it's going to be possible for them to sign the players they really need to make it better. They need creativity, but the players that could provide it are going to be expensive.

Bosingwa for Ribery perhaps?

""We have said we will only deal under certain conditions," said Hoeness. "Namely if the others want to do really crazy things."" I'd imagine if they want him that much a deal could be worked out but im not sure it'd be good to have 2 rather known divers on the same team

Much much rather keep Bosingwa, give em Cole for Ribery (just dont like Cole and to my eyes Bosingwa played better football this year than Cole), Pato for Drogba and buy a strong back somewhere and I'll be happy with that.

Cole gained momentum all year and he was at his best at the end of the year. If that continues next year.. then he's gonna be tough as hell to beat.

Madrid signed David Villa for 40 million euros, when will they learn they need to sign a defensive midfield player and a whole new back 4. Stiil atleast their games will be fun to watch next year, they are sure going to socre a lot of goals but if they don't sign some defensive minded players they are going to concede a shit ton as well

they are doing the dutch thing where if you can just score more goals than the other team you don't need that good a defense

No, that's the Spanish thing. I think Real Madrid was the last team with a good defense.

They have Lassana Diarra as the DM. Don't think they need another especially as he played quite well for the half of a season he was there. Maybe they need a CB. I'm sure they'll buy one or maybe they think they don't need one since they have a goalie who saves their ass time and time again.
