| BUBBLES THE MONKEY!!! | The NBA Off-Season Draft Extravaganza It's definitely time for a new thread since the season's been over for a week now and the draft being tonight. The first huge news was the Jermaine O'Neal to Toronto trade for TJ Ford, Nesterovic, and the #17. Welp, let the trade speculation begin. The Blazers have not been shy about their desire to trade their pick and the Heat seem intent on passing on Beasley or trading the pick. |

| The rumor that the Bulls are going to trade the first pick to the Heat for D-Wade (and the second pick?) are crazy. I like him but I don't think thats a good move. If the Bulls take Rose they really need to think about trading one of the other half dozen guards. The sports talk guys in Chicago were talking about how the Bulls should trade Luol Deng, Tyrus Thomas, and Ben Gordon to the Heat for the #2 and then they could have Rose and Beasley. All signs point to Beasley being a bad choice, and with Miami not seeming to want him either, if the Bulls don't take Rose, it will be a disappointment. This will be the biggest decision of Paxson's life, thats for sure. |

| As a West Virginian and WVU fan, if someone would have told me before this season that Joe Alexander was going to be drafted in the top 10, I would have laughed in their face. That being said, I wish him the best of luck and think he'll have a successful career. |

+58 Internets | I'm pleased with the Rockets. The French SF they took didn't make sense to me at first (we already have 2 starters in Battier and McGrady making one or the other play out of position). To turn that into another potential SF and PF isn't bad, though I might've kept Arthur over Green. They've also got to look into getting a serious backup for Yao "Injured every season" Ming. DeAndre Jordan in the 2nd would've been nice, can basically buy those picks with cash. Beasley gonna be a 18/8 guy on the Heat if used right until Marion is gone, then I can see him average 20/10 for his career. I really think he can score and rebound really well. Derrick Rose I really like too, but I don't understand how this is a point guards game now when Rajon Rondo (and a team lead by defense) is the one wearing the ring, not Paul or Williams and I can't seem to remember Kidd or Nash putting on any jewelery. I always wondered how average 6 points and 5 rebounds in an international league made you a top 20 pick Last edited by Ham n Cheese; 06-27-2008 at 10:07 AM.. |

| Uh, Carlos Boozer? Charles Barkley? Those are a couple tenacious tweeners that would disagree with you. And Beazly is a bit taller than either of them and probably better than they were in college (definitely better than either was their freshman year.) |

+10 Internets | All I know is.. good luck defending Wade, Beasley and Marion. I'll take my chances with Ben Gordon, Tyrus Thomas, Rose and whoever else they think is going to score points in Chicago. Why a "potential top 5 PG" on a loaded team like Memphis only managed 4.5 assists per game is beyond my comprehension. I see him being another Jordan Farmar, not Chris Paul. He'll be a good addition to the team, a spark off the bench, a good scorer when it's needed. A good pickup for sure, but over Beasley? Oh, and for all of you fantastic people who slave over ESPN's every word, I apologize in advance for contradicting that which the great ESPN preached to you. Feel free to dock me internets! |

| The problem in Chicago was that a lot of guys there can't create their own shot, let alone create for anyone else. Rose fits them perfectly though there are other PG's they could have gotten to fit the bill if they drafted Beasley. Did you watch Memphis play much this year? A lot of times Rose was hitting an open guy who would pass up a shot to get another player a better shot. He started the plays, got them in their offense and created for everyone. Memphis also had several players capable of creating their own shot like CDR. If he averages less than 8 assists per game this year as a starter I'd be shocked. |

Okay, so they'll be the 2008 version of the Denver Nuggets IF Wade is healthy (and I'm not sure he can get and stay healthy with the pounding his body has taken). They'll score 100 a night and let him 110. I mean, it's entertaining and it'll end up putting fans in the seats, but if your goal is to a win a title, Miami isn't going to do it with the way their team is setup. I love Rose. I'm always a fan of taking a play making point guard if you can get one simply because if you don't have a pure scorer like Kobe or LeBron, having someone like that will get everyone else more open looks and more opportunities. | |

Wrong. Boozer is 6' 7". Yes I know they list him as 6' 9" but if you hear anybody that is ever around him talk about it they say he's 6' 7". Just look at him next to other forwards and you see the difference. Beasly measured in at closer to 6' 8". And who's talking about winning rings? I'm talking about the ability to dominate in the NBA as a tweener. Barkley made it to the finals and lost to one of Jordan's teams in 6. Good enough for me.
