This is going to raise so much debate. Should he have been fine, shouldn't he have? How come this apparent flopped when unfined but mine got fined? I swear I wasn't flopping.

Stupid rule but I guess it's progress to avoid that shit. Should just have faith in your refs to be able to recognize a flop at this point and ignore it.

All calls and even no-calls are debatable. Just go watch the Laker game where fisher jumped on Barry.

They need to do something about the fucking Hack a Shaq. Atleast make it so you can't intentionally foul off the ball behind the half court line, that atleast makes it a bit more dangerous, OR FUCK IT and if you foul off the ball the opposing team chooses who gets to shoot the freethrows.

Hack a Shaq just needs to be a flagrant foul, no matter how much time is left in the game.

And I support these fines. At least doing it this way gives them time to sit down and review and see who is guilty.

But seriously. The league reviews every game in their office anyways for officiating errors, so now they're going to be checking for flopping. They feel a player flops, FINE! I approve of this. I'm actually happy it's not at the referee's discretion since they're pretty much incapable of making a decision nowadays.

I can't imagine the player's union not throwing a fit over this ruling. But good times. In a perfect world the refs would be competent, but as has been noted time and again, they're not -- not even close.

They actually mention Hack-a-Shaq in the article, they debated it and it ultimately came down to them not changing the rules because they didn't to reward players for sucking at free throws.

Its not rewarding the player, its actually rewarding the fan so they don't have to sit through 5 minutes of that garbage in crucial games like it happend in the SA vs PHX series.
