+10 Internets | No one will disagree with PSU being ranked highly and/or going to the NC if they win out. Until they get blown out by the SEC Champion and the cycle repeats itself. They look awfully good this year, but I remember another undefeated Big10 team who raped and pillaged everything in it's way on it's way to #2 as well =/ For their sake, and all of our sanity, I hope that does not happen. edit: Oh and for hilarity's sake, take a look at Utah's schedule. Striking similarities and one could make a good case for it being equally difficult to PSU's, but almost universally we're going to tell them they can't come to the NC party if they run the table: August 30 at Michigan W 25-23 1-0 (0-0) September 6 UNLV W 42-21 2-0 (1-0) September 13 at Utah State W 58-10 3-0 (1-0) September 20 at Air Force W 30-23 4-0 (2-0) September 27 Weber State W 37-21 5-0 (2-0) October 2 Oregon State W 31-28 6-0 (2-0) October 11 at Wyoming W 40-7 7-0 (3-0) October 18 Colorado State 2:00 PM ET The Mtn. November 1 at New Mexico 9:30 PM ET The Mtn. November 6 TCU 8:00 PM ET November 15 at San Diego State November 22 No. 9 Brigham Young Last edited by WillzZz; 10-13-2008 at 03:45 PM.. |

| people here are so much brow beaters it's not even funny. if espn told you tomorrow that the acc was the best conference, i guarantee the tards here would be mouthpiecing it. let's make one thing clear. psu deserves every bit of attention they get. the big 10 has no problem whatsoever with assraping sec teams. OHIO STATE has a problem getting owned by sec teams, but not the big 10. you think osu's record is bad against sec? look at michigan's maybe? they TEAR through sec teams and have been for over 50 fucking years. this idea that sec blows the big 10 out of the water has been perpetuated SOLELY on the laurels of osu's lazy ass. penn state, wisconsin, hell even MINNESOTA has no issues with bending the sec over. that said, the big12 is the best conference this year. sec is decent, but many of their teams again this year way overrated. hello auburn, maybe you should drop outta the top 25 maybe? oh wait, minnesota is 6-1; they don't deserve to be ranked, but vandy does. it's so biased it's unbelievable. |

| 2 years ago OSU sucked it up big time and allowed a florida team that no one thought had a chance completely ass rape them... This I agree with... However, last year wasn't OSU's fault. There is absolutely no reason they should have been in the NC game ACCEPT for the fact that all the teams that shoulda been there decided to blow "easy" games towards the end (usc/wvu/etc).... I actually felt bad for OSU because it was pretty obvious they were going to get raped... They were a young team with an average qb.... not exactly National championship bound... The big10 is only viewed as a bad conference because ESPN loves the SEC. Its so painfully obvious that this is fact its sickening. If you look at the big10 vs SEC bowl games they are pretty even.... Personally.. I hope for a Florida v PSU or Florida V Texas national title game... I think florida can win out(if they continue to play like they did against LSU) . What will be interesting is if there is a 1-loss SEC team and a 1-loss Big12 team with an undefeated PSU..... I feel the sec>>>big12 but I'm sure there are just as many that feel the opposite... Either way... bcs<<< |

+11 Internets | to be honest i'm scared of a&m at times. they are a true wild card, and thats the problem in a lot of college football lately. parity is starting to be apparent, and when 1-2 losses in the regular season are huge those kinda land mines make ya worry. that being said i'm making the trek to college station this weekend to get thrashed at north gate. gotta see if my picture is still on the wall at one of the bars there.

| PSU fans can relax. Michigan has very little chance of beating PSU this year, the QB play is just way to bad to beat a team playing at PSU's level. Worry about OSU, a healthy Wells with Pryor in the backfield is something to get nervous about. |

| I still haven't been convinced that ANY team is or conference is dominant this year. The SEC had overinflated preseason rankings and the Big12 picked up overinflated rankings in week 4 when everyone got upset but the Big12 teams all had byes. There are so many one loss teams that it's getting really hard to sort through them and figure out who deserves anything. Honestly, how do you define a quality win this year? Solely based on ranking? Was Oklahoma really a quality win for Texas? Just because they were number one or was it because Oklahoma has dominated the teams they faced this year including football powerhouses like Chattanooga and Washington? Was Georgia even a quality win for Alabama? I understand Georgia dominated Georgia Southern and Central Michigan. That's pretty hard for any team to do. Missouri hasn't even played anyone other than an overinflated preseason ranked Illinois team. How can you call that a quality win for Oklahoma State. Unfortunately preseason rankings have to exist to give us something to talk about, but it ruins the spirit of competition. Teams that start near the top tend to stay there barring an actual losing streak while teams that keep winning have a hard time pushing their way to the top. Honestly, does a 6-1 Ohio State team really look better than a 6-1 Michigan State team? Not really, but it's a difference of 11 spots in the polls. All because the Buckeyes start out preseason at 2 while the Spartans at 35. You can argue that OSU got beat by a tougher opponent, but did they really? Is a 1 loss USC team really better than a 1 loss Cal team? Cal was edged out by a tougher opponent. Cal also just barely beat MSU while OSU was serially raped over the course of the night by USC. Obviously the answer to this question will ultimately be answered on Saturday and there's still several more weeks to sort out the debris. I'm still not convinced enough to put ANYONE into the NC game. Everyone is vulnerable. |

+7 Internets | cfb There are rumors that Clemson has contacted Rich Rod for the recently available HC job. Oh man, the drama that would follow if this came to be. I can see it now... I don't think RR will jump the ship quite yet, but who knows. When you lose to Toledo at home anything can happen. I saw a great gif made by LSUfreek on EDSBS this morning. Having trouble uploading it though ![]() |
