It's just hard to trust Ole Miss. Most discounted the Florida game as that once a year fluke that most teams suffer. But they really finished the year strong.

While the bowl games are not as satisfying as playoffs would be, it sure is satisfying to watch the Big12 pussies get destroyed.

Well, I'm getting ready to head out to the local watering hole to watch Utah vs. Alabama. Anyone giving Utah much of a chance? I'll probably root for them since I historically go with the underdog in games I don't care too much about.

Also, I'd like to point out another thing about these bowl games. I think you have to be really careful reading to much into any of them unless it's the NC game. The NC game is really the only one that means anything. You hear the arguement that a playoff would make the other bowls irrelevant, but the fact is unless your team is in one, they already are. The universities are getting the payday as long as they show up.

I mentioned in my earlier post how big I felt the win for VT over Cinci was for us (sorry Tea, those turnovers killed you guys). The reason why I say it was big is that among some of my friends/co-workers that are also VT fans there has been a feeling, not often spoken, that Beamer and his staff weren't taking bowl games seriously enough. This year they spent alot more time in preparation and I think the loss to Kansas last year and alot of the grumblings within the 'Hokie Nation' that getting there was no longer good enough helped fuel this win.

What I'm getting at is I just wouldn't personally read too much into some of these games like Ole Miss vs. TT. Ole Miss certainly is a good team but I can't help but think the TT players weren't fully up for this game. Of course that is no excuse for losing, but that team just didn't look the same after the loss to OU. And this goes for the PAC 10 as well. I still don't believe that they are the best conference in the nation despite their bowl record this year. I think the most impressive win for them was Oregon since USC had what is essentially a home game vs another Big Ten team and the result was the same as OSU earlier in the year. And don't even get me started with these month+ long gaps between the last time teams played and their bowl appearance.

Anyway, I felt like rambling a bit and just hope tonight's game is entertaining!

Someone forget to tell Alabama theres a game tonight? May be the best first quarter of football i've seen all year from anyone in the country, by Utah. Amazing, lots of game to be played though.

We may all have our different conference loyalties, opinions, etc, but I think nearly all of us agree that we hate Bama' and or think Saban is the Antichrist.
