+1 Internets | They had it together and were the better team that day. That game was also one of the most fun to watch all season. (and not just cuz I was there! In the UM section eek)We also definitely didn't give up in our bowl game. I'm not sure if some of the other teams represented here can say that. ^^ |

| We bawlin boi! | ESPNs Thursday Night football Lineup 08 Thursday, August 28 Wake Forest at Baylor North Carolina State at South Carolina Oregon State at Stanford Thursday, September 4 South Carolina at Vanderbilt Thursday, September 11 North Carolina at Rutgers Wednesday, September 18 West Virginia at Colorado Thursday, September 25 USC at Oregon State Thursday, October 2 Pittsburgh at South Florida Thursday, October 9 Clemson at Wake Forest Thursday, October 16 Florida State at North Carolina State Thursday, October 23 Auburn at West Virginia Thursday, October 30 South Florida at Cincinnati Thursday, November 6 Maryland at Virginia Tech Thursday, November 13 Virginia Tech at Miami (FL) Thursday, November 20 Miami (FL) at Georgia Tech Thursday, November 27 Texas A&M at Texas Thursday, December 4 Louisville at Rutgers A lot of great matchups, WVU - Auburn should be a great one, Miami-VT is always a rivalry, Texas and A&M as well. At Colorado scares the shit out of me somehow more than Auburn does, high altitudes, Thursday night primetime, CU getting the best back in the country out of HS (Darrell Scott)....trap game if there ever was one. Hopefully Oklahomas slip up in Boulder last year will make sure we dont overlook them.

| We bawlin boi! | Rodriguez agrees to settle, pay WVU $4 million Rodriguez, Michigan to pay WVU $4 million - NCAA Football - Yahoo! Sports The settlement was reached on what had been a key deadline in the case. As part of the discovery process, a judge had given Rodriguez until the end of Tuesday to reveal whether the University of Michigan or anyone else had agreed to pay WVU on his behalf. Flaherty said a document was produced, but he could not immediately divulge its contents. Adding pressure to Rodriguez was a lawsuit WVU filed in a Michigan court last week, asking a judge to order Bill Martin and president Mary Sue Coleman to testify in depositions. A hearing on that request had been set for Wednesday afternoon. WVU also recently got an Ohio court to issue a subpoena for testimony and records from Mike Wilcox, Rodriguez’s financial adviser. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- I wonder what skeletons were in the closet that made Michigan decide to settle so quick? A lot of speculation that the UM AD were largely behind this whole fiasco getting RR to fight it, and its just a BIT coincidental that when the Michigan AD and president were going to be called in for depositions that they settle in just a matter of hours (settled in less than 48 hours). It was obvious RR was a fucking moron, and rather clueless in this whole process, the actual transcripts of the depositions running around show just how bad RR and his legal team got absolutely manhandled. So much for all the shit talking Michigan fans and everyone else who said he was innocent and would never pay a dime. I'm done with this entire ordeal and glad to be moving on, but OSU fans will have their entire next-door-neighbor state wearing red from now on whenever they play Michigan.

| Rich Rodriguez was undeniably the best thing to happen to WVU football in the history of the program. The facts remain that 1) Rich left for a program with a much higher pedigree of success than WVU and 2) WVU didn't honor many of the promises, formal or informal, made to Rich during his stay there. Typical WVU fan should be honored they had a coach with the caliber of a Rich Rodriguez for so long. I personally felt fighting the 4 million buyout was ridiculous and ultimately knew the outcome would be Michigan picking up part of the tab. But outside of that, the man has a right to accomplish as much as he wants to, and WVU was only holding him back from accomplishing those very clear goals. You wouldn't keep your job at Blockbuster purely on principal if the opportunity of a lifetime rang you up, and neither should Rich.

| We bawlin boi! | Not really. Previous to him was coach Don Nehlen, who between 88-93 had two undefeated seasons and a spot in the national championship game. In the same time period, RR never once made it to a NC game and blew the only chance he ever had by getting coached off the field by a crippled man with a porn mustache. This was also against a *much tougher* Big East in those days that had perennial powerhouse Miami in it, which if memory serves, beat Rich every single season before they went to the ACC. We also played Penn State every year during some of those years as well before they went to the big 10. So yea, I'm gonna have to go with no, he was the second best coach though. Nehlen also had more NFL talent come through as well--> James Jett, Daryl Talley, Jerry Porter, Marc Bulger, Anthony Becht etc etc. I do give him lots of credit for using the basic spread offense, but I think there are other minds out there who do a lot more with his philosophy -- App State (ask Michigan lol), Oregon, even Tulsa.

What exactly is it that he couldn't accomplish at WVU that he can now accomplish at UM? It CERTAINLY isn't being the champion of the college football world because he had that practically fucking HANDED to him and he REFUSED to take it and instead awarded us WVU faithful with the absolute WORST moment in the entire programs history. Then he bolted. | |
