| I wonder who OSU will give the title to this year? Or maybe the voters will finally get a clue and see that the Big 10 blows. Either way I am pretty pissed off cause the 4 game playoff got shut down. Now we got to put up with these crappy bowls again and not get to see the best teams play each other, instead we get to see some crappy team that played a joke of a schedule (OSU) and really does not belong in the National Championship game. Last season would have been much better seeing OSU, LSU, Georgia, USC, or whoever in a 4 team playoff. Then we could have crowned a true national champion. Shit it should be a 8 team playoff but I'll take a 4 game over the BS we have now. EVERY OTHER sport has a playoffs why not college football? It makes no sense.

| i was more commenting on the fact that the same mouthbeating line is repeated every year. wisc, penn, illi, msu is the same as any middle of road team from any other conference. in fact, wisconsin would probably kick the shit outta the majority of the other middle road teams. so take your mouthbeating shit somewhere else this year please. ps, i'm waiting on another team's good ooc schedule. show me that too. | just to show you how stupid espn and rivals are, they make their preseason top25 polls and their SoS polls WITHOUT REGARDS TO ONE ANOTHER. espn top25 5 big10 teams. yet for some reason, SoS is weak? okay espn! you fucking morons. LEARN YOUR OWN POLLS. |

| It's like they rank teams based primarily on how much they shoveled their ESPN drivel to you during last year's regular season. WELL WE TALKED A LOT ABOUT THESE TEAMS SO LETS PUT THEM HIGH. Preseason polls will forever be retarded. Why do you think Spurrier always votes Duke at 25th? Because they're meaningless. |

This is shown through an extensive history of bowl games, non-conference games, and whatnot. You want some hard math? Go here and see what you can find since 1990: OSU: 58-15 against non-conference UofM: 46-16 against non-conference PSU: 62-18 agianst non-conference Wisconsin: 55-13 against non-conference Purdue*: 30-16 against non-conference Iowa: 38-25 against non-conference Michigan State*: 30-19 against non-conference N'western*: 29-29 against non-conference Illinois*: 22-31 against non-conference Indiana*: 32-21 against non-conference Minnesota: 31-22 against non-conference There is ONE losing team in that list. JUST ONE who performs below .500 against non-conference. N'western, as expected, performs exactly at .500 against non-conference. Starred are the teams that have losing records historically in conference. Do you want some more embarassment? Boston College versus the Big10: PSU 19-4 against BC (Note: You said PSU was the weakest - guess we know where BC stands now.) UofM 4-0 against BC OSU 3-0 against BC Mich St 3-1 against BC Indiana 0-1 against BC (good job!) Fuck, you guys even managed to lose to Ohio University the one time you played them. Get the fuck out of here, the Big10 constantly performs against all other conferences as a whole, and even against the fabled SEC is only one-game down conference versus conference in the past 10 years. Take your Big10 hate elsewhere. | |

| That's not an awful schedule really. ND may be down, but they are usually a 'decent' team. UCF is coming out of nowhere, VT, FSU, Clemson, Maryland, WF.. these are all bowl game teams.

| people have short memories that's all. almost all of the big10 in '02 would've mopped the floor with any other conference that year (and they did). 01 miami would ANAL rape any nc teams of today. you think 41-14 was bad last year? that 01 miami team would've made osu bend over like a bitch. 100-0 i'm talking here. the same for florida, lsu, texas, usc. the 02 buckeyes would also rape the living shit outta any of those teams. but most people are new to college ball and either weren't around or don't (want?) to remember. it's all cyclical. we haven't had a truly, truly dominate team in about half a decade. i guess 04 usc would count, but 02 osu or 01 miami would still dismantle them though. we haven't had a dominant conference either sadly. and no, the sec is good, but not dominant. |

| I think there have been some great teams lately, but they've been offset by other great teams. LSU, USC, the Vince UT Championship Team, and Florida have all put together some amazing teams this decade. Look back to the ubr dominant Nebraska team of the 90's...not so much competition nationally. |

| Good to see a CFB post going. I can't wait for the season to start. I think it's appropriate to take this time and set the record straight, in particular the view put forth by one idiot (and he shall henceforth be referred to as the idiot) that ESPN convinces people to hate Ohio State. As a college football fan, I was forced to watch ESPN anoint OSU champions of the college football regular season despite their being at least 6 other worthy teams to consider. The argument they put forth (Led by no less than an Ohio State graduate) was that, no matter what the evidence, Ohio State was number one, and the 2nd NC spot was the only thing left to discuss. Perhaps ESPN is so brilliant in their hatred of Ohio State that they played king maker with Ohio State *knowing* they would get their shit kicked in by a 2nd SEC team, thus generating more fan apathy and disgust with Ohio State after a 2nd consecutive National Championship Beatdown. Or maybe they are just tremendously large Big 10 homers. Oh yeah, there's that. The year before, we had to endure this outrageous argument (led again by Herbstreit, Big 10 alum) that Michigan deserved a rematch with Ohio State in the NC despite the presence of at least one other worthy opponent. People forget how close that came to happening. ESPN/ABC have a very lucrative TV contract with the big-10. This cannot be ignored. ESPN is *not* unbiased in their coverage of college football. They are always advocating for their cash cow, and don't you ever forget it. So when idiots like our very own ever say that ESPN is somehow the enemy of the Big 10 or any of it's teams *Ohio State in particular*, well, idiots got be set straight. |
