Bodybuilding for nerds.

Let me first admit the posibility of this thread beeing rickshaw material. I apologise. That being said...

I am a nerd, i am 1.72 meters tall and i weight 55 kg. No chronic disease brought me into this state, just the unwise choices i made in my lifestyle. But enough is enough, i want to correct this. So i googled "bodybuilding" on the internet and all the guides i find are for fat people that need to get into shape.

My nerd logic tells me that those guides will not work for me, but maybe i am wrong. So if you wise gods know any bodybuilding programme designed specifically for getting muscle mass on a thin body like mine, let me know. Even some opionion and advices will be apreciated. And maybe, just maybe, it will turn into a meaniningfull discussion.

Edit : some pictures of me to ilustrate :

Why would you post this in screenshots? Anyway, there are any number of threads on this in the Sports House. Did you even use the search function?

hard to tell your body since you're wearing a bulky ass jacket, but i don't think simply working out will help you. you need to start eating better. just based on your face (no offense) you look like skin and bones. And that's coming from me.

More pictures of the black-haired chick, naked. Only thing that can save this thread.

You need to build some fat first. Muscle won't grow out of thin air.

Start eating beter and more. If you are already eating a lot of quality food, try to supplement it with milkshakes and icecream.

Once you got some fat, you can start the real work.

And fat is related to muscle how? Muscle grows from protein.

I'm no expert, but I'm pretty sure this is a bad idea.

Eat protein, lift a lot. Find a lifting program that works for you. Unless you're going to stick with something, it doesn't matter how efficient it is at building muscle, you won't build any muscle.

His statement is half true. Some argue that you need the extra calories to fuel hard training. You would do both of these AT THE SAME TIME, and not one before the other. You don't want to get fat and then start working out - that's retarded.

I am not sure I ascribe to the theory of "bulking up." Mike Mentzer figured that you could add plenty of muscle over the course of a year with just 100 extra calories a day (of protein).

Thanks i was just joking tho

To the OP. Do you have a history of drug abuse? Only reason i ask is because we have similar dimensions but you look super thin. If your skinniness is from drug abuse there is probably a process to let your body heal before you strain it working out.

If you didnt have any fat reserves wouldn't your body start to cannibalize muscle to fuel itself?

I was a skinny bastard and started working out in January. Actually I weighed the same as you, was at about 5'8" 125lbish.

Just eat a little bit before you go to the gym, and buy some protein mix. After you get done working out stuff yourself and drink the protein. Easy as shit.
