+9 Internets | Yeah Detroit will be back next year, I don;t see them losing anyone in the off season and they have a crap load of room left in their cap....if anything they are going to be better next year, or have an even deeper depth to their already talented roster. |

Pittsburgh will be back next year seeing as they dont have much competition. I think the cup will be back in the west again next year also. I think Detroit, San Jose, Dallas, or Anaheim could have beat Pittsburgh this year in the final. The west just dominates too much in the new NHL and the East plays a different style of offensive hockey that doesnt work in the west. | |

+29 Internets | YouTube - Colbert licenses the Hockey Night in Canada theme Seriously though, this whole thing is a little ridiculous. Ridiculous that the CBC wouldn't cough up a couple million for the rights, and the way that CTV/TSN were gloatingly playing the theme every chance they got within about 5 minutes of putting pen to paper. Overall I don't really care either way what hockey broadcast it's on, both have things that annoy me (it often ends up with me weighing who I can stand more that particular night, Cherry or Maguire). But the whole circus around it has been pretty silly. |

| Only a couple weeks left before players become free agents. Im still curious to see if Selanne and/or Niedermayer return. Theres a few good players out there that could become free agents like Hossa that will be fun to see what happens with them. |

| Found this to be pretty shitty since it wasnt related to the NHL at all. NHL suspends Ducks owner Samueli indefinitely |

+29 Internets | Players are one thing. Owners are totally another. Until he's been sentenced and the exact nature of his crimes and any effect they may have on his involvement in the NHL and with the Ducks have been determined, he should be suspended from any involvement with the league or team. Considering the bullshit going on about Leipold and Anschutz loaning money to the now bankrupt DelBaggio and the clusterfuck of ownership transfer/financing in Tampa, the NHL is quite rightly pretty sensitive to ownership issues right now. Samuelli won't be booted from the NHL, I'm sure of that. But he may be suspended for up to a year. The Bag Skate: Bettman in the Dark on DelBaggio Loan - FanHouse - AOL Sports Blog |
