| Give the Stars credit? Please. I give one man credit: Turco. The man stood on his head for 2 straight games. That guy is awesome. The rest are just over-hyped, over-rated, hockey players. Modano is past his prime, Morrow isn't ready for primetime yet, the rest are just roleplayers. If I wanted to make excuses like you seem to roll out constantly I could point out that our leading playoff goal scorer wasn't even playing this series. Now go cry some more about how awesome this year was for you. I'll be watching my boys carry around another Stanley Cup. |

+1 Internets | Morrow practically willed this team to win. He scored 3-4 GAME WINNING goals including 2 in OT. Brad Richards won the Conn Smythe for the Lightning when they won the Cup. You think Sergi Zubov is over-hyped and over rated? Pretty sad that these "over-hyped, over-rated hockey roleplayers" took you to 6 games after being down 3-0. Your young guys, Zetterburg, Franzen, Hudler, have been around those last 4 years of being the best regular season team but never quite making it to the finals. Did you make excuses then? Franzen was a fluke. Who heard of his scoring ability before these playoffs? He is a 38 point, 27 goal regular season scorer. Someone, that while nice that he was producing in the playoffs, he is hardly someone you were counting on. What excuses am I making? injuries? Bad calls? The Hockey gods? I simply said we were beaten by a team that should have beaten us. How is that an excuse? Sounds more like a statement of fact. I have a feeling that you can't stop Malkin, Crosby or Hossa. Or maybe you think they aren't ready for primetime either... Good luck!

+1 Internets | Cool. Just to back off a bit, why no affiliations with any Illinois teams? About the only non local team I am a fan of is The Oklahoma Sooners.

The rest of the Stars are over-hyped and over-rated? Who is over-hyped on the Stars? Nobody. Modano is the only one you could even start to make a case for and he's well past his prime. Come out of your Red Wings cave and realize that there are other teams and other good players out there. Looking over the Pens shows you don't know shit... have you even watched them play? Quote:

| Where I lived in Southern Illinois, Chicago teams were not looked upon favorably. Most everyone adopted the Cardinals as the team of choice (and thus baseball as the professional game of choice). As for basketball, when I was growing up, the Bulls sucked so they weren't on TV very much. I didn't get to see them. I did get to the Celtics/Lakers/Knicks/Pistons a ton. I chose the Celtics. As for Hockey, my choices were pretty much the Wings or the Hawks. And again, Chicago was not looked upon favorably, so I went with the Wings. As to the Cowboys, well how can you not love Staubach, White, Dorsset, and Bullet Bob? |

| I don't think you understand the level of retardation I have to deal with when it comes to the average Stars fan (not Braen). When I say they are a disgrace to the NHL, I mean it. They are the fairest of fairweather fans. They know shit-all about the game, and they know shit-all about the league and it's history. If you were to mention the Hartford Whalers to this kind of fan, you would get a blank stare. These people are pure hockey idiots. And I hate them. ![]() |

| Romo is a manwhore | The only team that matters around here is the Cowboys. It's been that way since they arrived in town and the addition of the Rangers, the Mavericks, and the Stars doesn't change that one bit. You're dead right about this town being full of fairweather fans. It's rediculous. |

+11 Internets | Wait just a cotton pickin' minute here. You boys tryin' ta tell me that most folks in the Dallas area ain't been playin' ice hockey since they was 8? Them boys ain't been followin' a 90 year old league fervently despite not having a team 'til 15 years ago? Hockey ain't in their blood? WELL GOOLLLLLLLYYYY! The point in that big retarded mash up is that if any hockey city is likely to have a casual fan base, it's Dallas. Can't expect Billy Bob or Pedro the day worker to have some deep seeded love for a "new" team in a sport they've never played or watched before.
