I have to say the pressure is still on the stars though.

Detroit loses, sure its a bad situation but we still have another game to pick it up.

the stars lose, seasons over.

There is something to be said about Momentum. Wasn't it last year then the Red Wings had the Ducks down 2-1 and then lost 3 straight in the conference finals?

Having game 6 here in Dallas, after beating the Red Wings twice, once at the Joe where they were undefeated in this years playoffs, is a great thing for the Stars. The crowd will be electric and we can keep building off Turco's completely awesome play.

Ever since Toby Peterson started manning up on Zetterburg, he has been held pointless the last 2 games. So far, none of the "role" players for Detroit have contributed to their offense, where as Dallas is getting timely scoring from their "Secondary" players, i.e. Trevor Daly/Joel Lundqvist even Marty Turco with an assist on the Game Winning goal and his puck movement led directly to the first goal. When your main players can't score and you can't rely on the rest of the team to come through, it is hard to win in the NHL, especially in the playoffs.

That said, there is a good chance it ends here for the Stars and if it does, I will not be in the least bit disappointed. They went further than ANYONE gave them a chance for. They weren't supposed to beat the Duck, last years Stanley Cup champs. After they dispatched them, noone gave them a shot against the Sharks, most peoples favorites to win the cup. No one even considered the Stars to give the Red Wings any trouble and for a while there, they were going to be proven correct.

It's a series now, the momentum is firmly with the Stars. They WIngs started taking horrible penalties at the end of the game (Holstrom Roughing a Stars player on the bench) The Red Wings have been shocked at their own barn and might start holding their sticks a little tighter, make an extra pass when they shouldshoot, shoot a little too soon when they should pass... If the Stars become just the 6th team in history to force a game 7 after being down 3-0, all bets are off, but I have my money on the Stars.

I love NHL playoff hockey. It truely is some of the best drama in sports.

Go Stars!
Just a little friendly trash talking, being from Detroit and all. I totally agree with you though. The momentum has definitely swung the other way and frankly I'm scared. The Red Wings' performance in the last 2 games has been sub par at best. I really do think the Stars have a great chance right now if the Wings don't pick things up, but we'll see. I can't wait for the game tonight.

I'll take Wings in 6 against the Pens.

Nice to see detroit finish it off with a decisive win on the road after Turco stole one.

Wings vs Pens is going to be one hell of finals.

I think the Pens dont have as good as defense as Detroit. I think its going to be a good series though.

Hey I was wrong about momentum. The Stars came out flat in the first 2 periods and paid for it. Detroit is a more talented and deeper team. I was just saying that no one gave the Stars a shot against any of the teams we faced. Oh and I was right, see what happens when your role players cash in finally? Dallas Drake scores his first playoff goal in 4 years.

It's nice when your team is the best team in hockey, wins the Presidents trophy is the number one seed and is expected to win. It's different when the Star have been kicked out of the 1st round the last 3+ years and no one gave them a chance in hell against the Ducks/Sharks/Red Wings.

Well we beat 2 of those teams and gave the 3rd a good series even after it would have been easy to roll over going down 3-0. Way to go Detroit, you beat the 5th seed in 6 games after having them down 3-0. By the way, after the Stars won in Detroit, where were you? Funny after they wrap up the series you come back talking shit.

The Stars gave us fans more then we expected this year. This is something this team can build off of and hopefully see more.

Good, more excuses by a Stars fan. That's fitting. Your team got run off their own rink and you make excuses about seeding. This is why Dallas hockey is fucking awful. And don't try to tell me otherwise. Remember, I live around here. The average Stars fan is a fucking disgrace to the NHL. At least now we get to watch 2 REAL hockey teams play for the greatest trophy in all of sports.

So i guess Colorado is fucking awful right? Aagin when the Wings got beat for the first time at home on saturday where were you big man?

You are right, Dallas is a football city. Always has and always will be, but not ALL the fans are that way. I have followed the Stars since they got here. I had season tickets for the 1999 Stanley Cup run. I went to 39 games plus all the of the playoff games. I am a huge Stars AND hockey fan.

Go to SI.com and ESPN.com and check out their picks to win the various rounds. The Stars were given a chance in hell to get out of the first round. Well we got to the Conference finals and were beaten by a team that SHOULD have beaten us. Of course it took you 6 games after you had us down 3-0. Only 13 or so teams in the history of the Stanely Cup playoffs have forced a game 6 after being down 3-0. Only 5 teams forced a game 7 after being down. History was against us and I am sorry it took us 3 games to wake up.

Again when you had lost 2 straight and we forced a game 6, where you you? When the Stars went to the Joe and Turco stole that game, where you offering credit or concern? You certainly weren't posting here until after you took the series. You seem to think just because you follow the Red Wings you are some superior fan. I am here taking my medicine. Did you do the same last year when you were bounced by the Ducks?

The red Wings are a better deeper team that won the President's Trophy and should win the Stanley Cup. They SHOULD have won this series in game four and game five. I am sorry that you can't give the Stars any credit, but I guess you are too much of a hockey elitist.

By the way Mr. Hockeytown, You have lead the league in points for how many years now 4? 115, 113, 124, 104 and in those years you couldn't make it to the Stanley Cup finals. You sound more like a fan who is relieved that they finally made it after all the disappointments the last 4 years. I have lived and died with 1st round exits in those same years. I am just proud of my boys for taking it to the Ducks, Sharks and the Wings and making it a series.
