| vests I finished my basement about 2 years ago and dedicated an entire area to a "gym". It pretty much goes unused. Even with a little TV monitor on the wall above the treadmill. So I did the gym membership and that's cool and all, but with kids it's very hard to get into a set routine with going, and that's key. So anyhow, I go to the Sporting goods store and see this. Dick's Sporting Goods - Hand/Wrist/Body Weights: GoFit Unisex Adjustable Weighted Vest (1lb - 20lb) I figured this would be perfect especially for winter when Im wearing big bulky coats and such anyhow. I try to wear it all the time and figure the added weight helps me burn more calories throughout the whole day. I believe there was a 40lb version but that's gotta be bad for the back as its akin to lugging around a bag of cement on your shoulders. 20lb version is great though. Ralphus |

| Be careful of ankle weights as the weights will inevitably press into the talus of the foot, and sometimes into the ball of the ankle joint itself. I know from experience; but, running with weights is definitely a smart thing to do.

+8 Internets | Exercise equipement seems kinda useless to me, especially that the people I know who have some of those machines usualy used them the first weeks/month, and then just had them sitting in a corner of their house. What is your goal OP ? Ever tried HIIT ? There is tons of exercices you can do that require absolutely no equipement (well the only thing you need is a bar to do pullups if you do not have anything else to do it with), and that will really improve your cardio performances a lot. I do a set of 6 exercices (30 seconds break inbetween each exercice, the whole set itself repeated 3 times). The whole thing takes about 30 minutes, and you do it like evry other day (3 times per week). Then alternate with a different set the next week, and so on. The exercices themselves need to get differents parts of your body to work (ie, not all focussed on 1 thing), you generally alternate an exercice that uses the upper part of your body, with one that works on the lower part. If you want exemples, just ask
