Manny 500 ftw. I loved how they showed all the people diving for that ball hardcore when it landed in the stands.

Evil empire needs money? I laugh at this. Steinbrenner is a rich fuck yet, why can't he pay this bill? Greedy bastards.

Yankees: We Need $350 Million More

NEW YORK (AP) -- State lawmakers and fiscal watchdog groups cried foul Thursday over the Yankees' bid for another $350 million in public financing for their new stadium.

Three state Assembly members from New York City called for a public hearing to examine a proposal to provide public support for one the richest franchises in sports.

MORE: New York Yankees

About $941 million in tax-exempt public bonds have already been issued for the $1.3 billion stadium that the Yankees are building. Under current IRS rules, the Yankees can't ask for more public debt for the stadium.

But city officials have been lobbying Washington for a change in IRS rules to let the Yankees receive an additional $350 million in tax-exempt bonds. The change could help other big stadium projects.

Yankees President Randy Levine confirmed the Yankees are seeking additional bonding. A team spokesman said Thursday the Yankees had nothing to add.

I think it's the right thing to fire him, but the Jerry Manuel is more passive than Randolph so how the fuck will this help? Also, how can you fire someone at like, 330 in the morning via email? Give me a break.

Oh yeah, Hank blames the NL and their hitting/running pitchers for Wang's injury. God this guy is so fucking hilarious.

I've always preferred the NYY to the Red Sox in that little rivalry (though don't really care for either). But jesus christ Hank is a piece of shit that doesn't belong anywhere near baseball.

My dad tells me he's worse than George from the 70s and 80s. I just don't know with him. When George went on his rants in the 90s and stuff, they were usually pretty insane, but they at least had a point or a purpose. This guy's just fucking daffey.

Poor Curt. Gotta wonder how it all would've played out with his career had the Red Sox taken his doctor's advice and let him have surgery instead of trying to do their own rehab bullshit. Probably wouldn't have turned out much different, but just too bad to see a surgery that was supposed to happen several months ago finally get done.

He has his world series rings, is one of the greatest players in the history of baseball, and is a class act. He has accomplished everything to do in that sport. Now he can turn a new chapter in his life and kick ass developing games.

Good Luck Curt, you entered the Field of Dreams.

peace

The team should of just let him have the surgery when he wanted it. I really didn't think he'd play this year anyways and honestly, I'm not sure Boston needs him. Sure I'd rather trot out Schilling than Masterson in a huge game, but if he's not 100 percent, I'm not sure he can be effective at this point.

Its not MLB related, but it is baseball related. Gratz to Fresno State. First Mens National Championship in any sport. Women did it in Softball in 1990 though. Still, this is huge for us Central Valley folks. We never have much to look foward to in terms of NCAA sports.

Willie Bloomquist now has 177 consecutive plate appearances without an extra base hit.
