+10 Internets | It was a great game but was full of shitty calls by the home plate umpire for both teams, for an LCS there has to be some freakin' standard. There wasn't any consistency as far as a strike zone all night long and it got progressively worse into the later innings. Let's hope that crew or at least the home plate ump doesn't work another LCS game or the WS. |

Beckett's two really crappy pitches (the one in the 1st for a homer was the worst offender) didn't help the Sox, but the HPU was atrocious considering the stakes.

+49 Internets | I'm not sure what's up with Beckett. This is almost a mirror of last year where Beckett was the sure thing and Daisuke was the crapshoot/pitching like shit. Now the tables have turned! I'm thinking Lester will hold Rays at Fenway and we'll score the win for this coming match. Maybe Beckett will snap out of his funk before we have to go on the road again (assuming we don't sweep in Boston).

The Rays have been really impressive this year. For their first postseason, they should be very proud of making it to the ALCS and giving the reigning league champions a fight.

| I dont like Lowe going on 4 days, but its really hard to hit home runs in Dodgers stadium, so we will see. I was kinda hoping Kershaw would get the start, but he's a 20 year old rookie, so it may not be a good idea. lol

+8 Internets | They should have started Kershaw last night. I wonder if a game has ever had the starting pitchers have twenty-five year age difference between them. |

| Sigh.. looks like my fears may come true. An unwatchable world series. The rays and the phillies? What? No.

Also, talking about homerism being an issue with announcers when Buck Martinez and Chip Caray are clearly the worst tandem of announcers the world has ever witnessed is laughable. Tough loss for the Sox though. I wish I could of went back to work.

| Firstly, both series are far from over, much as I'd love to see the Phillies and Devil Rays cause I hate both the Red Sox and Dodgers. Secondly, fuck anybody that thinks the series would be unwatchable at this point because it doesn't have the BOSTON Red Sox or the LOS ANGELES Dodgers. Having big city / bandwagon teams doesn't make a series more watchable. It makes the TV people happy in the pants and might make it more interesting to fans who know shit about baseball, but the Phillies and Devil Rays are both exciting young teams with a lot of talent. If they end up playing each other it COULD be a very good series with a lot of runs scored. Last year Boston was in the WS and THAT was unwatchable. Seriously, I can't remember the last WS that remained watchable from beginning to end. Probably the Giants-Angels, remind me if I'm forgetting something inbetween. That and the Diamondbacks-Yankees have been the only memorable WS of the decade for me. Yankees-Marlins was ok. |
