Best economically one for under a $1,000.


Looking for some advice from owners or others looking into buying one - semi Consumer Reports FoH style.

buy a gym membership + tanning membership. if you have a treadmill sitting around you will always say "well i can do it later lemme just put it off a little more".

everyone i know that has one does this.

Anyway, just buy a regular treadmill. You don't need all that fancy shit. The one I have cost a couple hundred and it works great.

What brand/model Gigfc? and where you get it? I am definitely along your line of thinking.

Buy a used one. Most at-home treadmills probably have about 4 miles of wear on them.

If you want a new one, check out Sam's Club.

Theres this free one they sell, its called outside, and you run outside. Shit is crazy real. You can choose street, beach, school, oncomming traffic, basically wherever you want. Comes with different textures too like sand, gravel or concrete. Its actually better for you than any other brand of treadmill!

Bear in mind locations of people... I own a treadmill that I actually use. Now, when it's 40+ outside, I don't use it because I live near many parks, but that's only about 7-8 months out of the year here (Minnesota).

Bought an Ironman model with a 3 continuous hp motor (you probably want 2+ CONTINUOUS horsepower if you plan on running and aren't a lightweight (150 or less).

All the cheap ones say like 2.5 hp, but that is peak, not continuous.

With that said, I also have a gym membership... but meh

I agree on all counts, I was just quoting that for the heck of it. I usually do it in the month or 2 leading up to summer.

Why not get an elliptical? I switched because the treadmill was hurting my knees and feet after awhile. I got a decent one for around $600 from Sport's Authority. It has games and stuff to play while working out.

Anyone use a rower? Seems like that would be a nice full body aerobic workout.
