| I think a point that a lot of people miss is that sports are a business, and when you are cheating in any way, whether that be having players on steroids, or taping shit like the Patriots, you are breaking US business law. Essentially, its giving yourself an unfair advantage to win games and make money by doing so, which in turn causes the teams that aren't cheating to lose money. A lot of people seem to miss this point and wonder "why the hell does the government care about steroids / cheating in sports?" That is why. The Patriots might as well be the Enron of the NFL. Maybe thats a lil dramatic, but if these allegations are true then I really hope they get come down on very hard by the higher authorities. |

It's ironic that politicians of all people are on a moral kick with pro sports when the whole fucking lot of them are the dirtiest mother fucking scoundrels on a planet. Much like most defense lawyers, they make a living off lying to people. Worse so, they all make shitloads of money on kickbacks and bribes from big business to get them to turn the other cheek. Like I've said before, I think they have more important things to worry about, but if you're going to try to air the dirty laundry of pro sports, maybe these fucking liars and douchebags need to take a good hard look at themselves first because they're all corrupt and rotten. | |

+1 Internets | The Rams are the 20th richest team in the NFL, so closer to the poorest than richest. I guess "small market" was an incorrect way to phrase it, but the point remains. A Super Bowl win is a huge moneymaker for a team. |
