| BUBBLES THE MONKEY!!! | Meh. There was no official rule against in until a few years ago. But seriously, why the fuck does Spectre care so much? He has nothing more important to worry about then pro sports? Also, after the whole steroid scandal in baseball and the NBA match fixing scandal, I just don't think people care about the whole spying thing (I will not call it spygate because I'm taking a firm stance on adding gate to anything with a scandal in it). I mean, face it, after all the shit that's happened in the last few years, we naturally assume players and coaches are going to do anything possible to get a competitive advantage. Does it bug me as a Pats fan? Definitely. Am I going to get bent out of shape about it and call him a cheater? No. Is what he did really any different than taking steroids? Not really. It's a competitive edge but a different form. The worst scandal that pretty much got swept under the rug was the game fixing scandal in the NBA. Seriously, why does NO ONE talk about this anymore? Does anyone realize that there is a good chance the suns literally got screwed out of an NBA title? It's aggravating, but there's no point in getting bent out of shape over it or throwing it back in someones face because they root for that team. Karma has a weird way of throwing shit back at you. There's a reason why the steroid hearings keep getting more attention than this and that's because it's a bigger deal than stealing signs. |

| I'm not a pats fan, that doesn't bother me. I don't think this story is going to be a big deal because I don't know who assumed they weren't taping that long. Also, they tried to make Spygate a huge story, but no one really cares. It isn't like steroids in baseball or the NBA ref shit, nothing even close to that magnitude. Several coaches have come out and said it is no big deal, or they have done it, or they knew others were doing it. I believe Shanahan was one of the coaches, in whatever context he commented on it. It just isn't that serious. I doubt everyone wants another debate on how it could affect the game, cause I don't. I personally just do not care. Jesus, we lost to NE in the Super Bowl and I still don't care about the taping thing. Who fucking cares. |

| BUBBLES THE MONKEY!!! | That was my point about it. I'm much concerned about the fixing scandal in the NBA which was apparently swept so far under the rug that no one has spoken a word about it in 4 months. I don't think it was an isolated incident and as an NBA fan it worries me. |

| BUBBLES THE MONKEY!!! | Nah man. He's right. Stop being a fucking homo and singling out lines about the Pats and actually contribute to the discussion at hand. I brought up the point that is nothing in comparison to steroids, which is nothing in comparison to the now non-existent NBA fixing scandal. Stop making retarded post and actually contribute to the point at hand. It's not funny and you know what, you can bash Boston fans all you want but you look like the bigger douche when you do NOTHING but single out lines like that and make asinine comments. *Waits for you to make another rebuttal* |

| What's to say? Belichek admitted to cheating in the same way Barry Bonds did. "I didn't knowingly do it." Yeah, right. No one believes either of them. Both also have their blindly loyal fans who will defend any and everything they do. They are no different. As to the NBA thing, who gives a damn about the NBA? I mean really. |

A huge % of the MLB has taken steroids since the 90s and still do. Belichick isn't the only coach to ever tape signals. People gamble, and always will. That won't be the last time it happens in the NBA. This thread is fucking stupid. IBTR.

Doesn't anyone rememeber when Paul Molitor was stealing signs back in the early 90's for the Twins? Well even when they knew the pitcher was about to throw a curveball the players still had to hit the ball. Molitor was reprimanded and that was that. Same thing with the Patriots.

It isn't like the Patriots were paying off opposing teams players to sell them their gameplan/signals/calls at the line, etc. PS- I'm not trying to be a dick, but the only people who care about this shit are sports writers. Let it die. Last edited by arkk91 : 02-14-2008 at 05:56 PM.
