Imus is a tool. Maybe, MAYBE, if he hadn't made an idiot of himself with the Rutgers comment then I could buy his excuse but now? No way. The man has serious problems with bigotry and prejudice.

You don't get 'racial profiled' at a strip club, which is the scene of a fracas, at 4 in the morning. You get 'racial profiled' at 6PM on a Friday evening while driving home from work. There are some 2,000 NFL players at any given time and the number of them who get in trouble with the law on a consistent basis is extremely small.

Black football players are not being taken down unfairly, they are just being idiots and getting caught doing shit that would land any of us in jail.

Of course a lot of this isn't 100% their fault, they are raised to think they can get away with anything. All their lives people have coddled them. They knew they could be stars one day and the people around them (parents, teachers, coaches, etc.) have run interference for them since day 1 to make sure they can become a star. This isn't limited to football either. Basketball is just as bad, if not worse.

I mean shit, I'm not surprised either, but it's because he's a fucking football player. It seems like every day for the past 10 days some footballer has been arrested or charged for something.

Everyone always used to gang up on the NBA for their gangster image, yet the NFL is the one with the big image issue. I don't think that Roger Goodell's suspensions are getting through to the players.
Doesn't the NFL have a shitload more players to potentially get arrested than the NBA? If the NBA's player arrest rate is remotely close to the NFL"s I consider the NBA a MUCH more criminally oriented league. Anyone know the numbers of arrests over an equal time period for both leagues?

Athletes are just morons.

Hi, I make millions of dollars a year but I'm gonna park a car on the side of the street and cut up this crack with my thug homeys.

Nevermind the fact I could buy a local motel, much less rent a room.

Hamlin agrees to $39m, 6yr contract with $15m guaranteed. This puts him at Gabril Wilson who, sans a single Pro Bowl, got almost the exact same contract, which is probably more deserved for Hamlin since he landed his first Pro Bowl last year.

Dallas was the #3 passing team without Terry Glenn in 2007. You don't do that with just TO and Witten (though they did account for 2/3s of the total yardage). What they need is for Crayton, Hurd, Austin, and Stanback to step up this year and define their roles on this team. Austin is capable of being a deep threat, Hurd as a possession receiver, Crayton sort of balanced, and Stanback is still in development (but coming along well, I hear). If all of them take that next step, or even two of them, we're in damn good shape.

Two things work in the Cowboys favor this year:
1. Returning 20 of 22 starters (Reeves and Ayodele are gone).
2. Returning both Coordinators which means 90% of the team is familiar with the offensive and defensive schemes.

Do not discount how much those two things mean to a team. Now, I won't say that Dallas is going to win it all. But when your season opening opponent's staff writers have a hard time spotting anything resembling a weakness, your hopes have to be pretty damn high.

As long as we keep Roy Williams on the sidelines/out of coverage we are looking really good this season. I can't wait!!

Hell, if Adam Jones gets reinstated and Jenkins is the draft pick everyone thinks he is, Roy won't be anywhere near the field during 3 receiver sets.

Terrel Owens turns 35 this season. Beyond him who's your #1 WR on your team? Crayton? He's at best an average #2. Then you have a lot of #3s. Witten is great of course, but if you don't have an Owens taking that safety away Witten's production will go down.

Also, you can't take what beat writers are writing about in July. Wait for preseason and training camp to come through. Though the Cowboys look great on paper, they do have some weaknesses. Their WR depth behind Owens is not great. Owens goes down, Crayton Hurd and Stanback do not scare me at all.

Is the middle of your backfield going to be good? I'd like to see how your safetys play. Hanlin is solid, but who's going to be next to him?

What about your running game? Barber is good, but he runs too hard to carry the ball more than 20 times a game. Felix Jones is unproven, so we'll see, but look for Barber to carry the ball 15-18 times a game to be successful.

You guys look great on paper, can't deny that, but you havn't won a playoff game in how long? Speaking objectively, you have the best chance as anyone in the NFC to make it to the Bowl. But can your locker room come together and do well late in the season? Romo has shown two years in a row to slow down towards the end of the year.

You have weaknesses and doubts on your team, not as many as most teams in the leauge but they're there. Lets hope you team chemistry comes together and you can win some games.

As a Giants fan however, I hope you diaf
