FOX Sports on MSN - NFL - Leinart facing scrutiny over Internet pics

Yeah, what the hell? Maybe the beer bong thing is questionable, but it's not like he was the one drinking from it. He is a single guy who isn't a freak.. what do they expect him to do? At least he isn't in nightclubs "making it rain" or whatever. Besides, it's the offseason.. he had a party at his house.. big deal.

Weird I didn't see anything about it on ESPN.com and yet it's been on foxsports since yesterday morning.

There's a cool QB deal theory going around in Cleveland:

Cowboys rumors influenced Anderson signing - Cleveland Sports News – The Latest Breaking News, Game Recaps and Scores from The Plain Dealer

Essentially, Dallas will sign Derek Anderson to a long term offer sheet, with a low first year salary, then trade him to Miami for their first round pick, which they'll use for Darren McFadden.

This will cost Dallas their first and third round picks. Their first rounder is the 28th pick, so really they are trading their first and 3rd for #1 overall, and Cleveland is going to get somewhat screwed by this.

Which just proves an earlier point I made that stated the Cowboys get tossed into a lot of needless conversations because they add a certain amount of prestige to the talks. I almost guarantee that this started with Anderson's agent, who idly mentioned he was getting some interest from the Cowboys front office (even if he wasn't), which spun into the Browns going into Panic Mode complete with Outlandish Conspiracy Theory.

Among the proposals that were passed:

• A recommendation to eliminate force-out decisions on pass completions near the sidelines. Now, officials will only have to decide whether a receiver landed in bounds or not. The intended result is more consistency.

• The "Phil Dawson field goal rule.". Now, certain field goals can be reviewed by instant replay, including kicks that bounce off the uprights. Under the previous system, no field goals could be replayed.

• Deferring the opening coin toss. This is similar to the college rule. Previously, the winner of the coin toss could only choose to receive or kick off.

• A direct snap from center that goes backward will now be treated as a fumble. Previously, it was ruled a false start.

• Eliminating the 5-yard face mask penalty. Now, only the serious face mask will be called (and will be assessed as a 15-yard penalty). The major foul will involve twisting or grabbing the face mask.
ESPN - Owners table re-seeding playoffs proposal; pass other rules - NFL

They aren't going to address the last second time-out calls on FG's?

Holy shit. Rule changes that actually help the defense. What the hell is the NFL coming to???

The face mask penalty is a big deal too I think.

It's a good change. Previously someone could just drop their head down and the tackler could put an open palm on the facemask and it would result in 5 yards. Only grabbing and attempting to tackle someone should be penalized, not incidental contact that doesn't affect the play.

The out of bounds rule is going to be huge. That's obviously going to be the new strategy. Grab people in the air and throw them out of bounds = incomplete.

Face mask is super huge. I didn't expect them to do anything about the last second field goals. They only forced do-overs like 3 times last year, which is less than 1% of games, which I imagine is a fairly acceptable number.

Thats the kind of shit they did in the 70s too, guy would be airborne and end up hitting the turf hard 5 yards out of bounds when they got shoved by a db going full speed. DBs previously wouldn't do that, as it would make it really obvious it was an intentional force out.

I dont think there is anything you can do about it. You have the right to call a time out anytime the ball isnt hiked. What can they do about it?

Wow.. did anyone catch the Chad Johnson interview on sportscenter. I didn't have much respect for this guy before, but now I have none. He's just T.O. v2. What a fucking idiot. His agent must be equally retarded for letting the man speak out like that.

"I don't care what the fans think about me anymore, those days are over" and "I will never change, never".
