| Anything below 4.5 for a RB is good. More important than the 40 is the shuttle score. Watch for those numbers. The shuttle accurately portrays change of direction and lateral movement speed which is essential for DB's and RB's. |

| So Dallas is maybe looking at trading Barber to move up to #1 to pick McFadden. I don't understand this. Barber is a great back... so why would you dump a proven one just to get an unproven potential replacement? Of course that's assuming they would give up their 1st round pick + Barber for the #1 pick. If you get to keep your pick and just trade Barber for McFadden then it makes more sense but for some reason I don't see Parcells being that stupid.

Basketball going apeshit for athleticism I can see. But seriously, why does the 40 time matter that much for a running back? How can guy drop because he runs a 4.40 instead of a 4.30? 1/10 of a second makes that much when you're running into a linebacker? Also the vertical leap and the standing long jump. Two more completely relevant events for running backs. God knows when he's gonna have to jump from a still position 8 feet. I just don't see the obsession with the combine. It's ridiculously overrated. Football is one of the few sports where GMs and scouts just obsess over how guys run drills as oppose to how they play the game. While how they play factors in, the obsession over how they run drills, how fast their 40 is, what their leap and their bench press is. All this shit is just overdone. I CAN'T be the only one who feels this way.

+1 Internets | The 40 time matters as somewhat of an indicator of how likely the running back is to get caught from behind. At least thats how I see that one. Vertical, I can see somewhat as well, just not really for the RB's. With the vertical jump, you get an indicator of just how well the player could jump for a ball that was thrown high. Good to know for DB's & WR's for sure. |

| BUBBLES THE MONKEY!!! | I agree. But at the same time, guys that can really play ball suffer because of shit like their bench and their squat. 40 time is very important for a wide receiver I think and much less so than a RB. RBs should be rated how they play, not how they drill. WR and DBs are actually built more for drills than any other position in football. Linebackers are a lot like RBs. A lot of what they do is instinct and you really can't judge instinct in drills. |

+1 Internets | Thats why you should do what I do & sign up for the free trial 2 or 3 weeks before the draft & cancel before you get billed for the regular subscription. That way you can see the analysis before & after for free. |

+2 Internets | Heh, I was actually happy to see laurent robinson (went to school with him) ran a really good time last year. I saw it on Sportscenter the other night, don't remember how fast it was. 4.3something range. One of the fastest last year, woooo. Too bad he has no QB =/ |

Jerry made a lot of good decisions last year. I don't think he'll do a 180 and fuck things up this fast.

| For the smart people, and not the dumbasses, the combine helps players that would of been a 6th round pick "rocket up" and become maybe a 4th rounder or 5 rounder. McFadden is not rising, he's still the #1 back in the draft in most cases. Though I still think Jonathon Stewart is going to be a beast. |
