| MLB: The Mitchell Report I thought I would make a thread to discuss the Mitchell Report. When it is listed today myself or someone else can post the names here. I am sure there will be huge discussions about it and the names on it. At 2 p.m. Eastern Time Thurs former Senator Mitchell plans to release his report at a news conference in New York City. It is a report on the doping in baseball and as many as 80 players are listed. Also there should be some very, very high-level names that will be exposed. Mitchell did say that it was to get information regarding the extent of player use but the player did use Steroids or HGH at some point in his career. ESPN - Sources: Players, owners to share blame in Mitchell report - MLB Today it was leaked that Clemens and Pettitte used steroids. ESPN - Source says information on Clemens will be in Mitchell's report - MLB I wonder how many Yankees total used roids? We know know Giambi, Pettitte, and Clemens. I am guessing that there are more. I really can't wait to read all the names on this report and see who cheated. The Clemens report already blew my mind and I did not expect it, now I am really curious. And I hope MLB suffers from this list because the cheating has to stop. Please discuss your thoughts and opinions:

| There had better be some Red Sox players on that list for this to be taken as anything resembling credible. MLB boxed itself into a pretty bad corner letting a member of the Red Sox board of directors lead this "investigation". |

+1 Internets | It would be interesting if A-Rod's name comes up. Baseball is hoping that he will break Barry Bond's "record" so their wouldn't be a taint on it... Here's to hoping.

| Yea I was wondering about A-Rod. If his name is on that list it would be HUGE. I don't really see what Red Sox could be on the list. The only Sox player I could see possibly using is Manny or maybe JD Drew. I don't think Mitchell will not put any Sox names on the list because he works for the sox, if he wants to be credible he needs to put every name that he discovers on that list, and I think he will put every name on that list no matter what team they play for. If the entire Yankee team is on that list I will be so happy, I hate those guys.

+1 Internets | Imagine if Shilling was on the list... Older player trying to keep up with the younger flamethrowers. Woudl it effect his "Green Monster Games" project?

| BUBBLES THE MONKEY!!! | This is why I didn't want to make a Mitchell thread because conspiracy theorists will say that because Mitchell has something to do with the Sox, no Sox players will be on it. So far we know Pettite and Clemens are there. Both are a given since they were in the Grimsley report (although they apparently have paper trails linking both). For what's it worth, I'm hearing there is no one on the Mets 40 man roster on the Mitchell Report. Tim Dierkes has someone who says the Yankees will be hit hard (expected since one of their trainers was apparently giving out information to Clemens and was working with the George Mitchell). Jeter and Rivera are not on the list. Source: Yankees' Clemens, Pettitte named in Mitchell steroid investigation So for those saying it's a "conspiracy theory to make the Yankees look bad", they had someone inside the organization who was cooperating with the report. They also had that guy who was a clubhouse attendant for the Mets who was a LEAGUE-WIDE distributor. So I have to work during the report and I'm kind of upset about it. I really want to see everyone on the list. Oh well, I'll catch it later. |

| From: SI.com - Writers - Mitchell to drop bombshell (cont.) - Thursday December 13, 2007 9:47AM "Some have pointed to Mitchell's ties to the Red Sox as reason for skepticism, and optimally he should have vacated his post as a director with the team before undertaking this assignment. However, Mitchell's reputation is one of great integrity, and it would be difficult to believe that he would risk his reputation to further the cause of his friendship with Selig or his favorite ballclub. But if the list of names includes no Red Sox, that won't prevent critics from crying foul about a potential conflict of interest." His integrity is very important. I don't think he would hurt himself by leaving Red Sox names off the list. And yea I want to see all the names.

| Those lists are just rumors until they're formally released And besides, some might b e names mentioned by trainers but mentioning does not necessarily mean it as in the context of steroids, it could have just been people referencing others fwiw |
