Red Sox Might not goto Japan...

Apparently MLB decided to not pay the coaching staff the fee that the players are getting for going, despite saying they would initially, players AND the coaching staffs are Pissed..

they were Supposed to get 40k each like the players, most coaches make under 100k a year(a few on the Red Sox make under 40k a year).

It's always great to see your players stand up for you (from the coaches perspective). What will end up happening is that MLB will end up paying the coaches and all will be well.

Good to see them sticking it to the man. MLB needs to fucking pay up, it's not as if they aren't making bank off the trip.

This is totally out of principle. I mean 40k to most of these players means nothing. To guys like Paps/Clay/Lester/Youk I bet it means a little more since they're arby guys, but you get my point.

In other god dammit news, no Joe Crede trade is imminent and I have Josh Fields.

red sox are not going out onto the field to play their game today until it is resolved...

game was supposed to start 15 minutes ago.. the sox at 12:30 eastern are going to the field to sign autographs but will not play until the resolution is made. several are out there now signing.. (reading the live blog from the herald)

reports are coming in that the A's also will not get on the plane until it is resolved as well.

ok its been resolved- most likely MLB is going to pay(its only like 1.2million total for the coaches for both teams)- no word on what it was but the game is going to start in 15 minutes.

Well it was suppose to be 40k per. The coaches getting 1.2 million TOTAL for the trip seems like a ton of money. Maybe the players deferred their money to the coaches. This was such a classy move and it's why I love this fucking team so much. They're a true team and they go to bat for each other. Another positive in all the negative in pro sports today.

1.2mil for both teams coaches combines, 30 total coaches. When you consider position/hitting/pitching/etc etc coaches, sounds about right.

Cool story though, even if I do with the Sox team bus would crash into the Pats team bus and both would veer off into a giant acid vat.
