| BUBBLES THE MONKEY!!! | Way to get the sand in your vagina. I just find it hilarious that A-Rod is going to bicker over 2 years and probably 50 million dollars (honestly, what's 50 million when you're making 280?). He's a fucking douchebag. If Boston signs him, I will never root for them again. I will abandon pro baseball for the rest of my life (or root for the Pirates which is pretty much the same thing). If you think I'm joking, you don't know me well enough. |

Also, Boston kind of makes sense. We have a 3rd base opening, and he's available. I just don't like the guy because he's a complete and total me first player. Guys on Boston play like a team for the most part (where part of the Yankees problems is that they have too many me first star players and aging veterans who can't perform). I say resign Lowell and offer him 3 years. If it's a bad deal, so be it. He still has 1 or 2 great years left in him at Fenway. So what if you're paying him to ride the bench that 3rd year? | |

+19 Internets | He can't go to Boston, they won without him twice recently. Everyone would chant for Lowell if A-Rod ever struggled. Cubs? Angels maybe? Dodgers? NFC where he could go. Didn't exactly expect him to be a Ranger last time either |

| A-rod would not fit in with Boston. It would be the same as the Eagles signing TO. The organization just doesn't support people like him, it's much more about the team than the individual. I really hope Theo signs Lowell ASAP. |

| Do you have any support for this whole "A-Rod isn't a team player" hypothesis, or is that just repeating what ESPN tells you to think? Oh, and I know you're all full of yourselves right now, but the rest of the world thinks it's pretty funny to say that the Red Sox are teh best team playerz ever while you have Manny Ramirez on the roster. He's far more selfish of a player than A-Rod could ever be. Hell, A-Rod even moved from his natural position to avoid angering the holy Jeter. Last edited by Duppin : 10-28-2007 at 10:51 PM. |

Also, he's not a team player because rather than LISTEN to the Yankees offer, he immediately opted out of what was arguably "his team". It would be the equivalent of Kobe Bryant jumping ship out of LA. I don't believe the Yankees are in nearly as bad of shape as people say they are. Their rotation is young and solid and they've got a few young position players. They have a lot of holes that need to be filled or will need to be filled within 2-3 years, but this is still a top 4 team in the AL. As I said, the AL title thing was a joke, apparently people don't know how to take them. And as for being high and mighty, we just won the world series. Last time I checked, that makes you the best team in baseball regardless. This team wasn't as good as the 04 team which had a better pen (but a better closer in Papelbon, although Foulke was absolutely perfect in the 04 postseason) and it was a better lineup from top to bottom. So yes, get the sand out of your vagina and accept the fact that Boston won. Also accept that A-Rod (rather than take a deal that would of totaled 8 years and 250 mllion dollars), opted out for probably 10 years and 300 million. Yep, 2 years and 50 million dollars. If he was smart, he would of taken the Yankees money and stayed. I'm happy he's leaving because it makes the Yankees offense that less threatening. Oh yeah, I hate ESPN. Buster Olney is a Yankee homer who only gets info right when it comes to the Yankees. Keith Law is a good guy mainly because he's an ex-baseball guy and a great scout of talent. Rob Neyer, likewise. As for their TV guys, Steve Phillips is a fucking idiot. There's a reason he's on TV and not running a team anymore. John Kruk isn't too unbearable, but I can only stand him in small doses. The rest of them are just east coast homers. Like most people, I listen to mostly bloggers and reports from scouts, ex smart baseball guys, baseballamerica.com and baseballprospects.com . PECOTA is your friend.

| The only reason that I care about Boston winning is that it's going to push you past Yankee fans to being the most hated in baseball. Oh, and selfish is absolutely the right word for Manny Ramirez, or have you forgotten all of his histrionics in past years? Fuck, it got to the point that he was put on WAIVERS. It's fine though, really, I don't expect anything remotely realistic to come out of the mouth of any Red Sox fan for the next couple of months. But trying to claim that A-Rod wouldn't be a good fit for the Red Sox because there's no room for players who don't put the team first is hilariously laughable on more than one level. |
