| Marion Jones admits to using drugs Marion Jones pleads guilty in steroid case - Yahoo! News UK Why is it that so many top class atheletes have to resort to using drugs? I used to love watching track and field events but there have been so many scandels, I have become so jaded that I always wonder if the person who won a certain event is clean or not. Such a big shame. |

| The root of the problem is how much these athletes are getting paid. Little 18 year old kid sees Alex Rodriguez making $25Mil. a year and realizes that the only way to get close to as good is to cheat. Would you cheat knowing that you might get caught, but you might make $25 mil. a year? I would. The bar has been set so high that they only way these athletes can live up to the expectations is to cheat. |

| There have been some pretty big leaps in physical training technology, but nothing is going to push the human body to see jumps in records/performance that we see in most sports now. The guys who play football, for example, are fucking super human. "Most" people, even gifted people, just can't get that way with normal training. |

| Actually it is cheating. Every major sporting league in the U.S. has outlawed it and test for steroids. Just because you don't get caught doesn't mean you aren't cheating. But nice little justification you got going there. |

+2 Internets | The best part of her statement is when she said, "I let my fans down, I let me family down, and I let myself down." I'm sorry...you let YOURSELF down? You're the one that did it! What a sorry apology. If she'd have left that last part out, I may have bought it. |

| In the Chicago Tribune today, they had a quote from a Brazilian Swimming coach that went something like "Either an athlete is clean, or they are chasing gold. There is no middle ground". Even the coaches in these sports don't believe anyone is clean. |

| I think Takeo Spikes is using (along with all the rest of the NFL). His neck is not human. Takeo Spikes Official Website - Philadelphia Eagles Linebacker - Bio Hi Mr. Spikes. I just wanted to congratulate you guys on improving to 8-8. I think next year you'll make playoffs. My question is I'm 15, just finished my freshman year of football, I was wondering what neck exercises you do to get your neck so freaky big? Go Bills! I don't hate her, but her sincerity is in question since she knew she was against the wall and it would come out that she used. She's just beating the court to the punch, and salvaging what little she can of her reputation. Last edited by UnchainedAcolyte : 10-06-2007 at 11:37 AM. | |

And Spikes does have a large neck, but so do most football players and wrestlers. They do a lot of neck workouts and exercises due to the high probability of them being dropped awkwardly on their neck, in order to prevent serious injury. | |

| 240lb linebackers that run close to 4.4 40's is because they are natural and work hard. Everyone should believe this. Steroid use is rampant throughout the NFL and every other competitive sport. Boxing, MMA, Hockey, you name it. Stop living in a fantasy world. |

+11 Internets | Some of them are just natural freak athletes. The greater majority I do not believe compete fairly, which makes me wish I'd just sack up and start using that shit so I could get a shot at making a couple million a year. |
