+27 Internets | I kinda watched it while napping on Saturday, it was a pretty good game. Really fast. Not much physical stuff though. I was at Cgy/Edm last night, and that was one of the better games I've seen in awhile. Lots of physical stuff, the pace was very good, and both goaltenders were playing very well. That's what hockey should look like all the time. |

| TSN : NHL - Canada's Sports Leader Id put money on Selanne coming back to play. With the way that the Ducks have been playing since the return of Neidermayer, Selanne is going to want another shot. |

+27 Internets | So Pronger went on Jim Rome's show yesterday and accused Edmonton fans of burning his child's crib as part of some "Burn Chris Pronger's Furniture Day" event put on by a local radio station. Nice. Too bad it never happened. What a jackass. |

+27 Internets | I think it may have been mentioned on one radio station, mostly as a joke. There's something scratching in the back of my mind about it. But obviously Pronger wouldn't have heard it there. Reading other blogs and message boards, it looks like some blogger awhile back had posted it, then retracted it, then went on a radio show and again repeated it only to be called out, and it's just kind of gone from there. But he should know better than to say something like that, unless he's 100% sure. It didn't help that Rome, after Pronger was off, went on to make a couple comments that gave the impression that the fans didn't just buy the furniture from Pronger's landlord (house and furnishings were all rented), but that the stuff was stolen. Either way, it gives a pretty bad impression of Oilers fans. I mean yeah, we have long memories about shit like this, but at least we're not throwing condoms at Jason Arnott anymore. |

+4 Internets | Wings ducks again tonight, hopefully will be worth staying up late for. On Selanne how would his contract work with the cap? Say he signs to a 3 million dollar one year contract, he would get payed the pro-rated amount based on the rest of the season but is the cap hit 3 million or the pro-rated amount? |

+27 Internets | I'm not familiar enough with the cap system to say. But I still think that whole situation smells something fierce. But there hasn't been much grumbling from other GM's, so perhaps there really isn't any advantage or benefit for the Ducks in this whole soap opera. What the fuck is with Niedermayer getting an All-Star nod, though? That's straight up bullshit. The guy has played less than half the season, and was essentially suspended without pay for the first few months. Surely someone else was more deserving. |

| Selannes salary for this year wouldnt affect the cap at all. As for Neidermayer, it was the NHLs decision and I dont think it was really a bad decision. Since hes joined the Ducks they are something like 12-3-1 or something awesome like that. I dont know of many other players that can help a team like that. Again it was the NHL so they were probably just looking into what could make the most money for the league. |

+27 Internets | Only briefly watched bits and pieces of the All Star stuff. The game itself looked okay, some really nice saves. How in the fuck did Eric Staal win player of the game over Nash? Whoever was on the selection panel and picked Staal, they should never be allowed to participate in something similar again. Because they are fucking retarded. For true. Too bad Getzlaf didn't pull off the Lacrosse move. They should have brought Shremp up from the AHL just for that competition, he would have embarassed everyone: YouTube - Rob Shremp Awesome Shootout Goals (Part II) -DayWalk3r Ovechkin's, meh. Maybe if he'd practiced and actually got shots off I would have been impressed. Otherwise his attempts were kind of pointless, really. And Kovalchuk's just looked stupid. What does the goaltender care if you're on your knees? It doesn't change the angles, and you're now on a straight, easy trajectory to the net. Silly. I'd be curious to know how the ratings did. I've never been a fan of the All-Star game, and have never watched much more than a fraction of it or the skills competition. But it's more of an event oriented towards less knowledgeable fans, anyway. |

| Romo is a manwhore | I tend to only be able to focus on one sport at a time so Hockey takes a backseat to Football until after the Super Bowl. So with that in mind, I barely even knew the All-Star game was being played until this morning when I saw the headline off to the side on ESPN.com. Well, football and the Sabres playing terrible, terrible hockey... |
